You can hire pep, klopp it won't change anything. You want to compete for top 4, build a proper squad.

This attitude that all of this kids will just naturally turn into would beaters whilst we continue down a path of mediocrity as a team and yet all other teams will find their players will not develop and improve on a similar level is somewhat laughable.
October 29, 20232 yr Nevertheless managers make a difference just as players do and this thread is about Poch. 3 hours ago, Bob stark said: You can hire pep, klopp it won't change anything. You want to compete for top 4, build a proper squad.
October 29, 20232 yr I don't think Pochettino is a bad manager or that someone else could do drastically better. The players he has at his disposal are better than where we are currently sitting in the league on paper but the mentality is just not there. We lack leadership and strong characters on the pitch. When you look at the body language it seems like they either don't really care or think this current situation is somehow acceptable. But that hasn't been any different under Potter and Lampard either. Imagine someone like John Terry or Frank Lampard being on the pitch yesterday. They would have been screaming and shouting at their teammates, urging them to get their asses out of their heads. No one does that in this current team ... Gallagher is the captain but he really doesn't strike me as a natural leader at all. Most of the players we have in our team are passengers. It makes it really hard for me to even watch the games. There is such an obvious lack of fight, passion and love for the club. I can't really identify with this current team at all. And apart from that we also really lack a a good GK and a good striker. Sanchez and Jackson are not the answer. They are not bad but not starting calibre for a team that wants to compete for top 6 in the PL.

If there is one job every manager would agree is a job requirement it’s instilling the right mentality. And I think the players have the desire and want to succeed. I expect there is huge frustration in the players. it’s more craft that’s needed as much as passion. Working out what to do against a low block, or how to score after we go behind. In the end it’s the same problem with a different group of players to last season, and a different coach. No goals. Until we start scoring goals regularly, like two a game we are never going anywhere. Have to put players on the park that can score goals. Cucu is never going to score that goal, it’s not what he does, he never scores. In fact he probably shouldn’t even have been in the penalty area given he doesn’t score, just got in the way. If you want a full back in the area maatsen should be starting at left back, his proper position.

Think you are kidding yourself. Poster boy Potter was sacked for slipping down to 11th and were are supposed to be further along in the rebuild process now. It's status quo instead and thats with a favourable opening 10 fixtures. It's now that the top sides and nasty away games are going to start coming up thick and fast, Next 10 away games in the league for example: Tottenham, Newcastle, United, Everton, Wolves, Luton, Liverpool, Palace, Brentford, Arsenal Luton is probably the only one of these i'm confident we will win. I don't want Pochettino sacked but unless he gets us out of mid-table fast I think he's on borrowed time. And I suppose the problem is that it's really, really hard to see us climbing the table now with the fixtures coming up. We are two points ahead of 15th place and I think its more likely that we are 15th or 16th before November is over than us climbing the table. And then he's gone I think.
October 29, 20232 yr I think it's a perfect storm as to why this keeps happening. The players are going into the game confident and we're battering teams with possession, chances and generally good football. The problem is nobody can finish and makes our young players lose confidence. That on top of all of the injuries, we've got a good 5/6 players who would be potentially starting if everyone's fit and we'd actually have some options to bring off the bench. I can't blame Poch at the moment, his hands are tied, we're playing some good football but it's going to take some time and the return of some injured players as well as the signing of a new striker.

October 29, 20232 yr If you want to have a very clear proof of our attacker lack quality, just look at Palmer. Palmer has been very good for us, comfortably our 2nd best attacker. Yet, last year Palmer was city 9th best attacker 😂😂😂

Because under Potter we were playing terribly with no hope of going nowhere, he also had no resume to back his job up. He was hired on the potential that he might be an amazing manager, Pochettino has already done well in the Premier League. If you want Todd to sack Pochettino, who do you want in place for him? And tell me how exactly it's going to be any different with this inexperienced group of players we have.

Potter had a better squad than Poch. I don't think it's a coincidence the more actual talent we replace with these crappy untalented young players the worse our results get. We don't have the quality to break teams down consistently or put teams to the sword when they're open and then once the nerves set in we don't have any leaders or players who will step up, just a bunch of average kids hoping the guy next to them will carry us to a result but they're mostly all in the same boat.

Badiashile and Chilwell would push for starting spots along with Fofana, along with Lavia and Nkunku, Carney, that’s 6 players who could give the manager way more options not to mention Broja, James, Mudryk until the problem of injuries get solve not even Pep can save the team. Poch hasn’t been able to field for a single game what he probably feels is his best 11. The club needs to fix its medical department and this goes back to Tuchel days. Can't see anyone else helping us penetrate Brentford's low block or maintain defensive concentration to prevent Brentford's first goal. Perhaps Badiashile but that is just theory.

So little evidence to suggest he'd make a difference.

Broja is more physical,.better in the air and faster than Jackson. It would have granted us more space. Would we have used that space well? Probably not but you never know.

Unless there is a dramatic turn in our fortunes and an improvement in our finishing it is highly likely that we will either be in it or on the fringes of a relegation battle after those ten games. In that scenario Poch may well be under scrutiny then. Hopefully it wont come to that because the press and pundits will have a feeding frenzy. Edited October 29, 20232 yr by WhiteWall

If Poch comes under scrutiny we deserve everything we get. This shortsighted mentality is what will keep us from progressing. Arsenal had this same problem and instead of listening to the mob of fans calling for his head they stuck to the project and now they are miles ahead of us(yes we gave them game but they will finish at least 5 places ahead of us probably more) If the club sack Poch meh I would stop caring because the guy hasn’t been in the job six months has a team riddled with injuries and a bunch of new players to bed in and fans really talking about scrutiny.

In essence, the annoying state we are in. Brentford had only won 2 league games before yesterday, one being their previous one, at home to lowley Burnley. They managed to snatch a loss from the jaws of victory at a poor United. Like Forest, who lost at United, Arsenal, Liverpool and drew at home to Luton, yet they beat us keeping a clean sheet? Bournemouth kept a clean sheet against us as well, everyone else scores against them, not us. We are in a sorry state, Poch, as any manager would, needs results now not just in the future. Figure it out, we cannot keep getting beat by the same tactic by sh*t teams. The owners want to develop a super team? Great. Multiple years in midtable, or worse, won't help with that. Not to mention this FFP risks as i doubt they budgeted for no CL revenue for multiple years.
