He started it, then we finished the bottling as a team. Better side, performance deserving a win, but don't win. As Jose taught us, all that matters is the result
October 21, 20232 yr Today summed up while I feel Poch is perfect to rid the stench of last season but not the guy to have us winning the league again in the long run. Great starting tactics but very very questionable in game management.

October 22, 20232 yr I'm a big Pochettino fan but I can see where some may say his in game management may have allowed Arsenal back into the game. By putting Jackson on we neutralised what had been an effective game plan to play without a recognised striker. We instantly became more predictable and easier to play against once Palmer was withdrawn from the false 9 and we played with a more a traditional set up with Jackson through the middle. Secondly if you watch their second goal, Gusto who had been excellent all game went to sleep due to the slight formation change that had just happened with James coming on. It's no surprise/coincidence the moment we had 5 natural defenders on we conceeded. In that split minute where the team adjusted to the new shape, Arsenal's substitute took advantage of our disorganisation. Pochettino yesterday coached a comfortable 3-0 win, unfortunately by the time the game finished it was 2-2. We've said this plenty of times with TT, the tactics were there unfortunately human error on our side cost us. I wouldn't really blame Pochettino for the dropped points though, his in game management to rotate the better players out to give them a rest was sound logic. We're clearly building momentum and with our luck can't afford any of these key players to get injured. Unfortunately we were punished for A not killing the game and B for having a shakey keeper. Until a proper number 1 is brought in to battle Sanchez (which was the original plan for him and Kepa) he will continue to make mistakes in part due to the lack of competition. He will find himself quite complacent as the number 1 keeper for Chelsea in the time being. To sum up though for us to play Arsenal the team currently sat 2nd and unbeaten. For us to walk away with a draw (which feels like a loss due to dropped points) after what we experienced last season I would say that's a great advertisement for Pochettino and clearly the good work he's doing. Edit: He's now unbeaten with us against Klopp and Arteta two big coaches in the league, can't wait to see how it goes vs Pep! Edited October 22, 20232 yr by LongtimerLurker

People keep forgetting this is a full strength arsenal versus a injury hit Chelsea and we outplayed them completely Palmer had the supposed best defensive duo in the league tripping over themselves and not only that him playing at false 9 was allowing us to totally overwhelm Arsenal in the midfield battle, to give all that up for a half fit Jackson was baffling. That James sub was also pure panic and ultimately backfired.
October 22, 20232 yr Poch had all the answers to what Arsenal threw at us, then the GK gifted a goal and the team was in mental shock. If we had more experience on the field or the bench, we could have ride it out, instead we panicked. My guess is we'd came out worse if Poch played a more positive way, the players were not able to ride it out, play the risky way we might have came away with nothing, and that be a heart breaker for weeks if not months. One thing that is on Poch and his coaching team is Sanchez, he's been doing that just about every game, and it hasn't been addressed from what we have seen.
October 22, 20232 yr What we need to remember is we are far from the finished product. We still need an efficient striker. Probably a class goalie too tbh. I think Sanchez is rightly getting criticism, but he's also been better than i first expected. We actually have an identity too, a style of play that is starting to become good to watch. I liked the intensity yesterday. We were not worried about Arsenal, we made them worry about us. We've gone into games against Arsenal in recent years with a more passive approach. This time Poch had us playing on the front foot and we looked more improved from previous ties against them. We are still young and improving. Instead starting to believe more in Poch's approach and ideas tbh. Also, hopefully once we can get a settled and consistent squad together and the first 11 stops picking up injuries, we can go on a run of getting results. Edited October 22, 20232 yr by enigma

Great starting tactics but very very questionable in game management. Winning the league is very tough to do. There's a mix of fortune and consistency over the 38 game season. Leicester won the league, does that mean Ranieri is a genius coach? Of course not. He had consistency and fortune. Some results and decisions go your way. You cannot always predict who will win the league, and each season it gets more difficult. The PL is arguably the hardest league to win.
October 22, 20232 yr For the first time in a long time I am proud of this team because yesterday they didn’t get bullied didn’t get outplayed or outclassed but for individual errors which will get ironed out they bossed a team a few years ahead of us in their development playing their full strength 11. I can’t remember the post I said this on but I mentioned that people are banging on about our next fixtures being hard would be surprised we doing to most Chelsea thing and win most of those games.
October 22, 20232 yr Out-tacticed Lego hair the whole game until Sanchez got bored. I can't blame Poch for letting that lead slip yesterday, massive human error along with inexperienced players are to blame. I think it's a massive step in the right direction and it shows how far we've come since Poch came in. Last season we looked like a league 1 team against Arsenal and now we've out played their full strength team for 90 minutes and gutted we drew.
October 22, 20232 yr Jackson sub would have been amazing had he scored in that 1v1 with the keeper but he blew it and now Poch looks like he made a bad sub. In reality, James sub was much more worse.

Last season we looked like a league 1 team against Arsenal and now we've out played their full strength team for 90 minutes and gutted we drew. Poch did very well tactically but I was at the game and I feel people are vastly overrating our performance. We were the better team for 80 minutes and we should have won the game but the final third is where you need the most quality. We don't have the quality in the squad in attacking positions for all our good play our goals came from a penalty and a fluked cross. We got in plenty of promising situations and had chances particularly Palmers and Jacksons but we didn't have the quality to convert and that's been an issue all season. How many times do smaller clubs take the lead against the big boys and then when they concede a goal there is an air of inevitably about how the result will go? It felt a bit like that yesterday we were so good up until Sanchez mistake but once Arsenal were back into it Poch didn't have the experience to bring on to see out the game and we looked nervy. At 2-2 we looked more likely to lose it than win it. Oh what I'd have give to see Mikel come on at 2-1
October 22, 20232 yr Strange subs yesterday I thought. Definite improvement on earlier in the season but unfortunately like a few games this year we’ve drawn when we should of won or lost when we should of drew.
October 22, 20232 yr Subs only look strange because Sanchez f**king gave them a lifeline. (James one is the only move I disagreed with).

October 22, 20232 yr It wasn't particularly on a plate though better strikers could score it and make it look easy. The pass from Sterling was good but Raya came off line immediately to make angle tight.
