Complete 180 to what he was saying in Pre-Season.

This is the same bloke that was was bigging up the club back in August on how we are Chelsea Football Club and anything other than challenging for the League/Top 4 isn't acceptable. Now mid table is our reality. No European football distractions, sometimes going 8 days without a match, and we are seeing every excuse under the sun for the lack of preparation and improvement we continue to see. Even Gallagher of all people now looks like he couldn't be arsed.

Nothing describes Poch's management more perfectly than him completely losing his sh*t the moment Nkunku got injured. Almost poetic. His tactics when under pressure has always been questionable and lord and behold it will likely be his demise.

Who do you think will do a better job?

I don't know. I really don't. This is why I am at the point where whatever happens, happens. They keep him around/sack him, it's whatever.

This is where I try and analyze just how much at fault Clearlake are for this. Poch by all accounts was the best candidate on paper. The other candidates in Nagelsmann and Enrique aren't fairing too well with their teams, and Flick who's available now doesn't have the best coaching record himself when his Bayern team was suspect defensively and he too loves playing players out of position.

I do think if ownership continue doing what they are doing, Pep Guardiola himself wouldn't succeed here.

Dude, you just said this in Colwill topic

Like the lad but that 2nd Everton goal pissed me the f**k off. If he wants to establish himself here and be a club icon, needs to learn to put his body on the line.

We can say with absolute certainty that Terry, Cahill, Alex, Ivanovic, and Carvalho would of done everything to try and block that shot.

My guy just stood there.

So you are blaming players, but now you are talking aginst Poch for that he said that the team is not good enough

Are you lost your mind???????????????????

Which one is true?????????????

Everyone had dreams and aspirations until they been hit in the face via the reality of Chelsea. You sack him now, who knows what kind of manager be taking this job, I mean a Rafa or Big Sam would be kind to us. The players would think just another useless manager, rest up and do it all over again in season 2024

No need to be overly exuberant.

There is a collective blame. The majority of it however is placed on the manager when performances continue to drop. When I see a 20 year old who's only played his natural position once this season, I am not going to point my finger at him for his confidence and performances dropping.

And why a player is on not natural position?????? Did the player do properly on natural position????

Tell me who is doing great on natural position for more than 2 matches

Reading the individual player threads and match day thread it seems to suggest that we have absolutely incredibly talented players with incredible speed and other attributes, so surely Poch is getting this horribly wrong?

De Zerbi or Xabi Alonso would both do better in my opinion, and would probably be willing to come here at the end of the season. Hansi

Though in terms of joining mid-season, Hansi Flick is the only elite option in my opinion.

What Poch said after the game will not impress the boss, but glad he said it, what's there to lose? It's a valid proof Poch didn't have much say in the summer transfers. Saying this like a broken record, we signed players with youth and potentials, and EPL is not the place to play with potentials only. If we can't afford to sign proven players next month, accept the reality and let's try to make use of what we got. But for god sake not another 100M spent on a few wonder kids we never heard of.

Interesting that Poch is talking about the January market.

In my opinion we need players with pedigree that have already achieved something.

I'm looking at Osimhen, Chiesa, Davies, Theo, Hernandez, Lautaro, Leao, Kvaratskhelia.

Lets see how ambitious this ownership is,and how quick they are willing to rectify mistakes.

Poch is now implicitly  blaming the players (who can we buy in January). That too is a measure of the man. And he has changed his tune completely from pre season.
I had more respect for Potter. Potter did a crap job but he took responsibility.

He has a worse points per game ratio than Potter.

Skme will tell you Potter inherited a CL winning squad so Poch has it harder, others will point out Potte had no preseason and far less time to get his ideas across.

I am in the Second camp there.

Under Roman we know what happened to managers who blamed players.

I completely agree with this but I don't think we'll be able to attract this kind of players anytime soon. We've already broken all transfer records, FFP issues are a possibility and with probably no European football next season unfortunately I can't see this happening. No idea what our strategy is going to be in January.

Pat Nevin said that he thinks that this squad won’t be ready to challenge for top 4 for 2 seasons and it will take them that long to develop. Hard to argue with that.

I don't trust our club to develop them. I wonder what these seasons do to their long term confidence. I hate I feel like this, but I really do.

They don't have to be high profile signings. Even signings like Badiashile will do considering the abundance of talent available in the world at the moment.

What needs to end is the fetish of young players who have a potentially high ceiling but very low floor.

I think he will get sacked although I am not big fan of manager merry go round, it will happen soon.

My biggest hope is not we get manager A, B n C. But we stop making crazy signing.

If Poch gets fired in the near future it will likely be because he has dared to speak out about those above him making the transfer decisions. If that happens and another manager is brought in, it will be somebody who is willing to work with our current, potentially talented but totally inconsistent, continually injured, and leaderless bunch and the cycle will repeat.

If I was any of those players and my agent suggested Chelsea he gets sacked immediately!!!

Gallagher, Broja and several other youth players are being linked away in January, I imagine their sales will be used to fund more signings
