December 9, 20232 yr That Bmouth game sums up Poch's performance so far, United got absolutely turned over. Their team is massively inferior to ours and they've pulled out a result like that against a team that outplayed us by a mile a few days ago.
December 9, 20232 yr 5 hours ago, just said: That's not right. None of our central midfielder players, apart from Ugochukwu, require anything other than a 6ft tape to measure them from soles of feet to top of head. Throw in James, Cucurella, Sterling, Gusto (when he returns from injury), Maatsen (when he gets on the pitch), and we only need to sign Snow White to remake the film. But you are right about Jackson and Palmer being average at best in the air. I mean those two are tall and if they are very good in the air, we actually are not that bad. But those two are just hilarious in the air.

I honestly think we are the only PL team that would lose to Utd in the state they are in atm. Charity FC at it again

We persist with this poor zonal marking or what ever we are seeing now, more tall players won’t make that much of a difference. Edited December 9, 20232 yr by Sconnie Blue

I don't understand, they will be the one who fail because they will be the one who contest header in dangerous area. But let's use Joao Pedro goal vs us. You put Drogba or not Drogba, just torres in Borja spot, that goal does not happen.
December 10, 20232 yr Either Bouremouth learnt from our mistakes, or we were completely incompetent. It was so easy to break through the United midfield and defence, defend deep and compact and United had no clue how to break it down, keep things simple by kicking it long instead of trying to play out in lose-lose situation. Bouremouth on a shoe string budget ( compare to use) able to play without much fear or stage fear, yet we completely got blown away. It's unbelievable, Poch has to take some blames and do better in future. Players age, fitness, injury are not valid excuses.

I watched intently the systems at Newcastle trying to understand our setpiece set up, and we came to the conclusion we have absolutely no idea what it is, but what we do know is it doesn't bloody work. Newcastle players found space with absolute ease, it was so simple to run off the sort of markers, into "zones" that the defender didn't then pick. They kept running multiple players into a zone, which kept overloading the defender in it, with no markers tracking. Either the defenders just don't understand it or its a complete shambles of a system.

Bournemouth took advantage of the same things we did, the difference was they scored from their chances and we didn't. We had loads of chances, utd were sh*te as well as us, especially defensively.
December 10, 20232 yr Someone else made a comment our players were too far apart and that’s why our passing was so sh**. Think there is truth in that and sometimes happen because players aren’t fit enough to move up and down the field as a unit or at least as groups. I can’t imagine we will pass so badly two games in a row.

I can’t imagine we will pass so badly two games in a row. The gap between midfield and attack v newcastle was ridiculous, there was no synergy, no communication. Either they were right on top of each other so no way to spread, or way too far apart so our midfield either had to go long or back to the defenders.
December 10, 20232 yr I don't think Enzo and Caicedo work as a 2. We seem to be doing a 4-2-3-1, but as people have mentiojed, the gaps between the 2 and the 3 is too much, and then when those 2 push up to try and close the space and they get played past, there's acres of space behind them. I think we need to consider a 4-3-3 and have someone sitting. I know we don't have a natural sitting DM, but someone needs to do it. Edited December 10, 20232 yr by Zeta
December 10, 20232 yr Time to go. Bye bye. Also, please take all the players with you. You can maybe leave Colwill and Gallagher. The rest can go.
December 10, 20232 yr I'm sure De Zerbi would like having his salary tripled, even if it means joining this sh*tshow
December 10, 20232 yr sh*te coach, been here since the summer and done nothing to change a single thing. Football is exactly the same, work rate is exactly the same, substitutions are arguably worse than any coach we have had. We need a coach that will come in on day one and stamp his authority, because this group of players will never ever improve under these weak coaches.
