I see some of our fans are calling for the romantic reunion with Jose as manager and JT as assistant.

Much as the idea itself is lovely I just dont see Jose as someone who the ownership would turn to. He is not a yes man.

Never going to happen. If and when Poch is replaced it will be somebody that Clearlake will trust to follow their plan (whatever that is). Jose would want to do things his way.

It's not the physical height that matters first, it's the willingness and bravery to go for the aerial challenges. What Poch didn't say is more experienced and braver defenders that will fight those aerial battles. Just like that second goal United scored last week, you could be 7ft1, but if you dont go for the challenge, some guy will just run on it and head into the goal like it's a training drill

yeah yeah its not the dog in the fight its the fight in the dog. Remember Mourinho complaining about short full backs. It's also a bit about training, partly comes naturally but you can train soldiers to perform in battle and i guess to use a bayonet, although I couldn't. But the point is you can train people to be competitive in aerial contests even if it's not natural.

In all honesty though lack of aerial presence is not the main problem its about number 25 on a list of things that need worrying about.

“We need more height”

I don't understand.

1st goal.

Gallagher vs cb, total mismatch.

2nd goal.

What  is the point of showing this goal?

3rd goal

Miscommunication, not height issue

4th goal

Somebody lost a header ( I think it is silva)

5th goal

Gallagher lost his man with a pick play which is why people don't play pure man to man, too easy this days. Ugo should marked the far post.

6th goal

Silva should have cleared that ball

7th goal

Colwill should have cleared that.

So out of the 6 goals, 4 are lost headers. So clearly we have no aerial issue.

Thank you for demonstrating my point.

The three biggest culprit in that video are Conor, silva and Colwill. Is this a suprise? No.

Conor losing aerial battle against CB is normal stuff. Why poch put him there? Who else?

Silva losing aerial battle is also normal. For a CB, silva aerially is below average especially in pl.

Colwill losing aerial battle is also normal. He lost many aerial and ground duel, he is 20.

Like @SydneyChelsea said, other team is not stupid. They will study your weakness and  they will exploit it.

Btw this tend of crowding gk so he can't catch ball in far post is very interesting

Watched that video, dont think it's a height issue, the issue is allowing the cross to come in. That's the first error of defending in the compilation, many of those are balls directed to the back post which menas fullbacks wrong positions defensively and they're certainly not closing down the man quickly enough if they're cutting back onto a stronger foot to cross... Got to work harder in the defensive flanks.

You have to earn the right to get more power. It's a universal truth. If Poch had done a better job with what he has he would gain status points. Since, in my opinion, and looking at the table, he has done a cr** job his status points are  low and in my opinion his input is not worth much.

Caicedo and Enzo are 22 not 17, Gallagher is 23. Jackson is 23 and Mudryck 22. Even Colwill is 20. He is young. Lavia its true is 19 and one for the future. Nkunku is 26. You can say the balance is wrong or they are not good enough. Lots of people do say that, they also said it about Villa and Spuds and probably Leverkusen and Arsenal. They are a bit young but only a bit. With the right coach and more experience and a couple of tweaks they can be a very powerful team. But not the way they are playing just now.

They will typically hit their peak 24-28.

So basically Poch will ask for some experienced players for striker/full back, and we will sign a bunch of 17 year old midfielders again 😉

Might be unpopular but Honestly I’m kind of glad they aren’t giving him power. Him not wanting Palmer and Palmer turning out to be our best player signed in the summer is a red flag on his ability to identify talent.

Palmer turn out to be good but if I can redo, do I still want Palmer? Nope.

I want Madison. We have way too many development player already.

100% will happen.

Poch "Boss I need a st"

Board :"Do to you want  a 17 or a 16 years old?"

Poch: "I need one that is older and  have experience "

Board : "Absolutely, this is your new st he is 22 years old and he has 15 career start, good luck"

Whole-heartedly agree with this. He has done f**k-all so far to warrant having any major say in the transfers. The story would have been different if we were at least in the top half of the table. As an owner, I'd rather trust the sporting directors at ths stage than a manager that is more likely getting sacked by the end of the season.

I just refuse to believe that every single player that we have bought is absolute sh*t. A lot of blame has to be placed on the coach if the players are not performing upto their potential or heck, even half of their potential.

At least he admits to making a mistake and he's giving him the game time he deserves rather than being stubborn.

Poch was the guy who recognised Harry Kane and made him the player he was, he created loads of good players at Tottenham and made someone like Deli Alli look like a superstar. Can't dismiss him completely over the Palmer situation. Most people on here didn't know Palmer was that good to be fair, just go look at the early pages of his thread.

It's noticeable how sh*t his subs have been.

To be fair to Poch because of injuries our bench is always a complete mess, virtually every game it's had to be padded by academy players. My main concern with Poch is his in game management tactically, nothing changes even when we're losing.

The majority of our signings are worse than our academy players.

Mudryk and Madueke don't bring anything that CHO wouldn't.

Lesley isn't better than Ruben

Has Cucurella been a better LB for us than Hall?

Washington was a £20m signing but he isn't a usable player now and won't be for a long time if ever

Disasi is a marginally at best upgrade on Chalobah.

The academy should produce squad players and we should spend on stars and top quality, we shouldn't be signing low level "talents" for big money.

I don't think you can blame Pochettino for this, when he has limited bench options due to the number of injuries. So many games we have just had a bunch of kids to pick from.

I reckon Hutchison ( who's on loan) would do the job of Mudryk and be better than Madueke.

Lesley is just a player we didn't need, bought it for the sake of buying.

I thought Washington would be the next big thing, guess won't be for a while at least.

Promoting a few academy players instead of buying wonder kids from the rest of the world would unite the fans, and bring back a bit of feel good factors. Maybe a self enforced transfer ban is the quick way to address things 🤔

One thing that is disappointing is that our injuries issue hasn’t cleared up. It’s arguably got worse. 12 players, most have been long term. Some who seemingly get a knock and are gone for months. Ridiculous.

Of course,  not Poch‘s fault but disappointing for him as well.
