So it's Pochettino...and now officially gone!

I would be interested to see a stat on silver medals won by club. I bet we're right up there for it, can't count the number of finals we've been bottling the last several years.

The thought of losing again and to Liverpool at that makes me sick to my stomach but that's not the mentality we should be having. We got into a cup final and that's f**king brilliant, gives us a real chance to turn some of these boys into men or at the very least give us some good experience on the big stage.

This picture has done Malouda and Anelka dirty. Malouda has got the most "what about me?" face you will ever see and Anelka looks like he is going to cry 😆

Now hey, thats Anelka`s happy face...

Finishing somewhere between 6-10th is fine with the cup final. That is something that was expected of the season.

Important thing is to improve players, find the right personnel and improve as a team. I think so far we are on that track. Winning the Cup would be a massive bonus.

He did get a lot right thus time. I am just about the only mudryck fan on this forum but even I think that he is not the best choice for that advanced 8 /inside left role. Chukwumeka would have been perfect in that role. That aside Poch di well enough. Of course no in game management really needed but no quibbling, well done

on to Villa

C’mon Axman, it’s a cup final. Anyone can win it.

Aye but Klopp has them purring again, and I really, really don't want to have to congratulate my friend again on his lot beating us in yet another final.

Based on our performances this season I'd argue we have a better shot against Liverpool

Beat Fulham twice so far to be fair.

Oh yeah obviously I'm being glib, and that's because I'm 99% certain we will be playing Liverpool and trying to be an optimist.

But we've shown this season that we can turn up against the big teams. And it sounds like they won't have Salah. This will be the biggest game of our season, it'll probably not even be Pools 5th biggest

We've turned up against them in all 3 finals but fine margins had us lose every time.

Klopp is key for them. If things are not going right he will react. I just dont see Poch getting the better of him.

someone has a theory on why Pochettino keeps preventing the central backs to give the damn ball to caicedo so he can break lines? its frustrating

They see Caicedo in isolation surrounded by 3 Boro players.

Silva doesn’t like passing to Disasi as he just gets it back. Eventually last night Disasi started to pass forward. Big shock for the team next season without Silva as know one else takes responsibility in breaking the lines with a forward pass.

It’s a good spot. He does lose the ball sometimes and in dangerous areas.

Lost his only previous English domestic cup final (to us). Lost his only final vs Klopp in the CL.

Do we believe Poch will be able to set the team up right, and make the in game adjustments needed, to beat Klopp this time?

We haven't had any luck at Wembley for years now, so maybe this year we will.  Just send out the best 11, don't over think and tinker for the big occasion.

Poch likely will though imo.

Central progression deep in your own half is very risky.

one has to take risks. at brighton he proved being excellent at it.

Exactly. I thought the entire point behind paying that price and getting Caicedo was because he was incredible at taking the ball under pressure and progressing it through the midfield. Poch seems not to realise this. Absolutely baffling.
