Same old story. Don't take your chances and pay the cost.

I don't think there's another club that's as fixated on the Champions League as Real Madrid. They're something else.

Crazy as City, Bayern and Dortmund were the better teams.  Deflected goals v City.  2 last minute goals from an ex Stoke striker v Bayern.

The founder of Real Madrid must of sacrificed a goat or performed some voodoo sh*t under the Bernabeu pitch.

While Luck is always on their side they have pretty strong bench as well.

Mind you I have sort of developed a bit of a fetish for German managers lately.  If we even ignore the obvious one, I particularly like Terzic, Hoeness  and Glasner. Glaser carrying on his Frankfurt work.

Totally agree with you .....New brand of managers with all sort of new brand of tactics.

We need to step up to show the world how to beat Real Madrid in a CL final as the underdogs. I believe that we would actually beat them in a final.

Dortmund manager 👌👌👌 Top notch....impressive tactics ...with such a squad rattled Madrid big time.  Wish he had little better squad and strong bench.

I don't know, I thought he had them set up really badly defensively. Every set piece they looked poor, so it wasn't a surprise when they conceded from one. They also had no plan B once Real Madrid woke up.

Real Madrid are the Kings of Europe for a reason. Their ability to absorb extreme pressure and counter punch the other way is unreal.

Dortmund played well, but failed to convert early. They reminded me of Inter where their general play was good, but they failed to capitalise.

Ancelotti wins a 5th CL as coach. Legendary from the great man.

Champions League Tally:

Real Madrid [15] = (1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1966, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022, 2024)

AC Milan [7] = (1963, 1969, 1989, 1990, 1994, 2003, 2007)

Liverpool [6] = (1977, 1978, 1981, 1984, 2005, 2019)

Bayern Munich [6] = (1974, 1975, 1976, 2001, 2013, 2020)

Barcelona [5] = (1992, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2015)

A**x [4] = (1971, 1972, 1973, 1995)

Manchester United [3] = (1968, 1999, 2008)

Inter Milan [3] = (1964, 1965, 2010)

Benfica [2] = (1961, 1962)

Nottingham Forest [2] = (1979, 1980)

Juventus [2] = (1985, 1996)

FC Porto [2] = (1987, 2004)

Chelsea [2] = (2012, 2021)

Celtic [1] = (1967)

Feyenoord [1] = (1970)

Aston Villa [1] = (1982)

Hamburger SV [1] = (1983)

Steaua Bucharest [1] = (1986)

PSV Eindhoven [1] = (1988)

Red Star Belgrade [1] = (1991)

Marseille [1] = (1993)

Borussia Dortmund [1] = (1997)

Manchester City [1] = (2023)

Ofcourse, Real Madrid fluking another CL win has become par for the course. It's mental to think only they enjoy this type of obscene luck year after year. Some would say "you make your own luck", but surely not year after year and that much. We'd probably have 6-7 CL wins had we even 50% of their luck or whatever voodoo they do before every game.

Just happy it wasn’t City again tbf, would have equalled our tally. Madrid is the only thing standing in the way of them dominating world football. We should be thankful Madrid are doing what they’re doing. Otherwise, it would be unbearable.

Agree.

Real Madrid are so far ahead in the European Cup/Champions League tally that no will catch up to them in our lifetime I suspect.

They've denied Liverpool twice (in 2018 and 2022) and Man City twice (in 2022 and 2024) which is great.

Don’t like him but Vinicius should really be winning the Balon d’or

Shame such a talent comes with the diving, rolling around and other assorted unnecessary things. Hullo Mr Neymar.

What will be interesting to see is how Ancelotti manages to play both Vinicius and Mbappe on the left.

Nobody presents like this guy. There's a reason I still love him at the age of 61 even after he managed Tottenham. I hope Fenerbahçe win whatever tournaments we're not in.

Given how much Liverpool like to give it the big’un about how many times they’ve won it, it’s kind of funny Madrid have matched their total of six in the last 10 years alone.

I still remember that Scouser who gave shouted 5 times at Cristiano Ronaldo when he was coming out the tunnel when they were playing Madrid, absolute delusional f**kers they are.
