August 21, 20241 yr If Palmer is going to come inside so much the RB needs to be constantly overlapping, if Reece's fitness can handle it then it could be incredible.
August 25, 20241 yr The yellow card was the best thing that happened to him. Finally woke him up and got his season going.
August 26, 20241 yr That number 10 position is his for the season, no more Enzo shifts behind the striker
August 27, 20241 yr Three assists and a wonder goal for Palmer and no ones talking about him on here. Shows how high the expectations are that nearly two days later, there have only been two posts on his thread

Nope not layed, presented, gifted, can't think of the correct word. I think any decent goalscorer can score them. But Palmers goal was just beautiful. *And he was involved in all 6 goals. Best thing about Noni's goals was the right foot. And against Servette too. Now a whole lot less predictable.

Wake up folks. You only take Palmer off if he gets a bad injury or to rest him late on in a game. You don't take him off just because he's slightly off his game for the first 30 minutes. The lad will ALWAYS create something at some point. As Oasis (nearly) sung - "he's see's things they'll never see............................."

Match day threads bring out the braindead from under their rocks. Best avoided.

Absolutely insane eh, I sometimes think our fans in the match day threads forget a match is played for 90 minutes rather than just the first 10.

I'm normally on here while watching the match but I stayed off against wolves and then read the whole thread afterwards. Like someone else posted I wish ppl go back and read the match thread and their posts afterwards. Some of them came across as being posted by hysterical children or angry grandma's (you know the ones) lol. They also fuelled each other, by just searching for the negatives only. Some were also quite embarrassing which I found funny, I know I know, I'm a horrible person, lol.

In fairness I don't think I've ever been to a football game and not heard pretty much any player being lambasted for making a mistake when they have otherwise played well, or had a great season. It's a knee jerk frustrated reaction. Posting similar on a forum is the online equivalent. If Palmer misses a total sitter it's inevitable that some will say 'f**k sake Palmer, how did you f**king miss that' When JT got sent off against Barca there were no shortage of 'f**king JT just blew the CL' When Mudryk hits row Z there are plenty 'he is getting closer...'

That stuff is fine tbh, as you say it's to be expected and quite normal, and I'm used to that. But thread was a lot worse. Ppl were getting riled up for nothing and it's only the second match. Their hearts won't/can't survive till the end of the season. Lol

If anything, you'll hear worse in the stadium. Make a mistake or concede a goal, there will be plenty of people saying "you useless w**ker" or "f**king stupid c**t". Also, the reaction against Wolves in that first half wasn't based on it only being the second game of the season, it's the reaction to seeing this play out plenty of times in the past. Wolves really could have been out of sight at half time, the complaints were understandable.
September 3, 20241 yr Ffs, is palmer injured? In a statement, the Football Association said: “Cole Palmer, Ollie Watkins and Phil Foden will play no part in England’s forthcoming Uefa Nations League fixtures. The Three Lions squad reported to St George’s Park on Tuesday but, following assessment, both Palmer and Watkins returned to their clubs to continue rehabilitation for ongoing issues. Foden did not report through illness and is ruled out of the matches against Republic of Ireland and Finland. No further additions are planned at this moment in time.”
September 3, 20241 yr It's international week, every second player will find a way to get out of it with 'precautions'.
September 4, 20241 yr He’s played for the last year with not much more than a 10 day break. Best he rests up and heals. He’s also going to be playing solidly for the next year at least with the club WC at the end of the season should he stay fit. Its crazy how many games top players have to play when you consider they only really get a break once every 3 years now with the World Cup, the Club World Cup and the Euros taking up 3 summers out of 4.
September 4, 20241 yr If Cole Palmer get's injured for any length of time, we go from being possible top 6, to more than likely bottom 6. It Can't happen!!

I really hope it's nothing and the kid just needs a rest. We already have 4 in the nurses office, we don't need any more in there. Especially him. Edited September 4, 20241 yr by Simplymo

September 4, 20241 yr I'm confused ... we seem to be piling up injuries again, and I was assured that this would all change once Pochettino and his antiquated training methods were removed from the picture ... ?
