Cole is a more naturally talented player, no doubt about that, Lampard himself has admitted he really had to work at his technique and skill. But he was much better on the ball than he gets praise for at times. His passing and touch were outstanding. 

Think Lamps will be the first to admit he had to work really hard on his game and it certainly paid off as he just got better & better and had that knack for scoring goals.

But Cole is so much more naturally gifted. The game looks like it just comes easy to him and everything he does just looks so natural and it's great to hear pundits saying how he plays the game like he's still a kid playing with his mates - just enjoying his football.

He really is a joy to watch. Best we've had since Hazard and the way he is going, he could well surpass Eden, which I never though possible.

Lamps is and always will be a legend. If Palmer stays with us for the next 5 years he will be up there with Lamps, JT and Eden.

If Palmer ever leaves it will be for world record fee which gives him Madrid, City, Newcastle and Utd as his only choices. He supports Utd but I doubt he goes there if they aren’t winning and Madrid are very well stocked in the forward positions.

I can’t see him leaving us once we nail down top 4

Not fooled but if someone wants him it’s world record fee minimum £150 million and with these venture capitalists in charge no chance he leaves without a world record fee minimum.

Having said that he’s the main man here now why leave a club that is being built around you to go somewhere you may be third or fourth.

Hazard tried it and it didn’t work out football wise.

He will be here long if we remain stable if we continue to chop and change he will leave.

Hats off to Martin Keown this morning on talksport, he stated that Cole is the BEST player in the PL bar none, i thought there was no way he was going to say this

Unfortunately Keown is always wrong....

Including in this case. Palmer is cracking, and has potential to be the best....but he isnt there yet.

Yes if he continues playing like he is consistently. And yes, if we continue to progress and reward him accordingly, then why not.

I liked this, I think there maybe some truth to it too...would he be able to show his "kid in the playground" character in peps team?

I never worked out why Utd fans engage him. He’s a Forest fan. He’s a twat but when Palmer scored the winner against Utd last season it was absolutely hilarious watching him wreck his bedroom.

Yeah - he is amazing - and there comes a point when its all subjective -  we are arguing over small details and semantics. Cole has reached the point with his numbers that indicate he should be right up there in the conversation with the best players. But for me, to take the crown, you need to be the best player in your overall position in the world. 

The EPL is blessed that there are a number of players who, in my opinion, are the best in the world in their respective positions. 

Alisson at GK

Rodri the best DM

De Bruyne CM

Van Djik the best CB

Haaland the best 9 etc

Salah at his best, the best wide forward

Palmer might turn out to be the best in due course, but for me, I dont think he is quite there yet to be called the best CAM in the world, and therefore I struggle to justify him being the named the best player in the league. 

But he is amazing. We are lucky that he is ours, and that we get to watch him weekly. If he keeps up these crazy numbers, then it wont be long before I can be persuaded.  But for now, Keown is still wrong 😄
