Cole Palmer signs for Chelsea!

Featured Replies

I said it on the matchday thread, but he feels like a cheat code. When it comes to delivering the goods and impact, he is right up there with the very best signings we have made in the last 10-15 years

Hazard, Kante and perhaps Costa are all up there, but our boy Cole is right up there.

An absolute joy to watch. We’ve had some special, mercurial players. Zola started a new trend, although lower output. Hazard was a different level. Cole is right up there with those two - if he keeps this up we’re talking legend status.

Just a world class talent. Top 5 in PL for me, in the company of Haaland, Rodri, and prime Salah and KDB. The lads special.

There isn’t a player in the world I’d swap him for. He’ll get even better too.

And I’m being 100% serious.

I’m going to say it.

Best player in the world.

I agree, due to him being so well rounded. Playmaking, finishing, pressing, free kicks, penalties - he’s got it all

IF we ever sell him (heaven forbid) it will undoubtedly be for a world record fee

Never fully understood what world class is?  This bloke would by most right minded people would get in a world eleven on form for past nine months or so. Frank Lampard was absolutely superb- scored goals, pretty much never had a bad game- this lad has got more in his locker and that’s saying something. In terms of attitude seems to have his head bolted on. Didn’t act like a prima donna superstar. Phenomenal talent

I absolutely loved Zola. Sort of player opposition fans used to clap, which is very rare. He did have his off days however. Remember him get out muscled on a few occasions

Ridiculous performance from Palmer today. Scored all the goals, leaving nothing for his team mates, while putting players who can't score clean through on goal to make him look unselfish. It's Torres and Malouda all over again.

Even scored from a Jackson assist, padding the striker's stats and possibly giving @nonotnowjim an aneurysm.

BBC recognising Palmer, Lineker saying he is probably the best of the England squad right now.

Personally think he has become aware of how Lampard put in the extra hours to achieve better results and Palmer has done the same.

Suspect also seeing Felix' cameo last week has motivated him more too.

As great as Lampard was, he was a mechanical footballer, as opposed to Cole who is more of a twinkle toed mercurial player

I know what your trying to say bit it's a but disparaging to call Lampard mechanical.

Cole is a more naturally talented player, no doubt about that, Lampard himself has admitted he really had to work at his technique and skill. But he was much better on the ball than he gets praise for at times. His passing and touch were outstanding.

No Aneurysm - although I would have had one if Wackos odd little jig (before he passed) made him fall over as I expected....

You’re probably right. Can’t remember him miss passing a ball, which is up there with the most important traits of a footballer

The sign of pure class is being consistent. Never having off days. SFL and John Terry have to be up there with the most dependable players in the history of English football

Not just never having off days - but also being regularly available. Hardly ever injured, always dependable, true leaders, never shirked responsibility - and always stood up to be counted with game winning moments. We were blessed.....

We are still not sure what his true position is. Can he play down the middle? Personally I think he can play pretty much anywhere. Maybe we should try him as a 'false 1'? AKA 'Rush Goalie'

Heard Micah Richard’s compliment him on that he can play on the right or as a number 10. He ultimately floats and has, dare I say, Messi like instincts on where he needs to be (I’ll leave the Messi comparison at just the instincts!). What an asset that he can play multiple roles - use this to our strength.
