Cole Palmer signs for Chelsea!

I’ve read fracture. Much depends on the extent of the fracture and what foot / toe. But that’s a minimum 3 weeks best case if minor, most likely 6-8.

The thing about groin issues is that players often get the same problem again because they are rushed back from it. It is a frustrating problem that can reoccur at any time if not treated well in the first place, so a couple more weeks out for Palmer could very well be a blessing in disguise afterall.

This little piggy cried "Wee! Wee! Wee!" all the way home.

It is an injury to the small toe on his favoured left foot.

Enzo Maresca said: "Unfortunately, he had an accident at home where he hit his toe. It is nothing important, but he won't be back in the next week.

"I wake up many times during the night - I hit my head, my legs, my everything - so it can happen."

We now know a lot more information about the sleeping habits of Enzo Maresca - it can happen!

That's how I see it. The reports indicate it's a minor fracture, so he shouldn't be out for that much longer, and it gives his groin some more time to recover.

I can imagine Palmer will be pissed off about missing the Barcelona match, though.

He's a secret R Whites Lemonade drinker, tip toeing around the house in the early hours of the morning and stubbing his toe... He should be ashamed of himself.

Honestly, this is the most Cole Palmer thing ever.

Spends two months fighting back from a groin injury, finally looks like he’s about to be back in the squad… and then breaks his little toe at home by smashing it on a door. You genuinely couldn’t script it.

It’s absolutely gutting because this is exactly when we needed him back in the team – Burnley to ease him in, then Barcelona and Arsenal in the same week. He should’ve been walking straight back into the XI for this run and instead he’s sat there injured again over a stupid freak accident in his own house.

I know Maresca’s said it’s “nothing serious” long term, but missing another few games when he was right there ready to return is brutal for us and for him.

Hope he’s back as soon as humanly possible because we need him on our dodgy December games.

Remember when Dave Beasant had a fridge related injury when he was with us ??

Maybe we should put a clause in their contracts forbidding them from owning fridges ??

DAVE BEASANT

Wimbledon FA Cup hero Beasant suffered a bizarrely self-inflicted injury during his stint with Chelsea. After dropping a bottle of salad cream, goalkeeper Beasant attempted to control it with his bare foot. In the process he broke and tore a tendon in his toe, ruling him out for two months – should have used his hands!

Wtf ?? . Maybe he should be tested under the " head injury protocol " every time he wakes up ??

Really didn't need the image of Maresca waking up in the night and whacking his everything.

World Cup looking doubtful for Cole. He’ll likely go under the knife for this groin issue instead come April / May a la Enzo 2 seasons ago. Silver lining is he’ll get the summer off to really rest & recover

Funny conspiracies going around the fanbase right now. Some are saying he hasn't broken his toe at all and this is just us trying to give him more rest because he hasn't recovered from his groin injury.

Why wouldn't they just say hes not fully recovered from his going injury?

Apparently it's because the club don't want to admit they were wrong

They are even going as far as to make Palmer wear a protective boot to hide it 😆

We've got some proper idiot fans eh...
