Cole Palmer signs for Chelsea!

Fofana, James. 2 examples of players who put off muscle surgeries and missed large time only to end up getting surgery and missing even more time.

Just get him fixed and make plans for January. Accelerate our next Brighton deal and sign beleba....

I really don't think he is going to be back after the international break. He doesn't seem close to recovering.

Agreed. While it was stupid of Hato to leap onto him, if he is in that much pain from a teammate jumping on his back, it doesn't bode well for him playing in a game. I think he will need the surgery

Sorry Bob - that wont work, because unfortunately, this manager is unable to develop a team that consistently creates problems offensively for our opponents. All Poundland Pep can do is ask for slow "controlled" possession, and then hope that Palmer can work a bit of magic.

It is very similar to Sarribore ball and how he relied on Eden. The difference being that they had prime Jorginho as the metronome in the centre, and Prime Hazard, who when up for it, was different gravy to everyone else on the pitch. Cole is good, but he isnt Eden.

So resting Palmer for 1 month really isnt an option for Peplini, because he has no plan b.

I was about to like this then saw you wrote "prime Jorginho". There was no such thing.

I'm pretty confident that he won't be back for the Forest game and will need an op.

We've seen this a lot with our players over recent years. We keep saying we're giving the injury time before making a decision on if surgery is needed, but it ends with surgery anyway. We could have had this over and done with and him back to his best by November if we had been assertive and had him patched up in the summer. Now I'm doubting if we will even see him until the new year.

Apparently, the diagnosis the club gave Tuchel on Palmer is worrying.

It’s a chronic groin injury that the club still don’t know how to manage. Surgery likely leaves him out until next spring, whereas it doesn’t look like it will heal on its own anytime soon given his reaction to Hato simply jumping into him.

The season shouldn't be make or break based on one player, get him on the operating table so he's fit for the rest of his career.

I would agree.

Far as i'm concerned, it's the perfect time to do it. Sanchez is still being backed, Colwill is out for the season and Delap is out until 2026. Not saying its a write off season but I am not really sure what this team can accomplish bar another Top 4 finish. Especially if it means Palmer is going to be playing injured for the entire season.

Get the surgery and let this be another growing season where Acheampong, Estevao, and Hato get crucial development.

sick note FC. The past few years have been painful for injuries.

We went through a time in the 00's and 10s years that we never seemed to have injuries, but goodness me, we are the opposite now. Players cant even look at the pitch without pulling a hamstring.

I still think it's because of the football we play. I think the low intensity and then sudden burst into high intensity that we have been playing for the best part of 7 years is why this has been happening.

I don't understand about hernia but with hamstring, if you go for surgery I heard that you will lose a bit of your explosiveness/power or something like that.

Yep. The human body isn't made for repeated 0-100% sprints consistently. It's even worse for athletes since they always push to 100%

Back in November, as per The Athletic.

Misses;

Nottingham Forest away

- Ajax home.

- Sunderland home

- Carabao Cup trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

On paper all winnable games if Maresca doesn’t thinker, and we need to learn to find solutions outside him.

Out for 6 more weeks! Let’s hope they have him fighting fit for the festive period.

Having said that, he actually said he “hopes” 6 weeks is enough. Better to forget about him until the new year and just have him phased back in for the run in.

We just need to scrape a Champions League place this season and protect the players from long term issues.
