Still playing injured apparently. Groin issue being treated precautionary as Rosenior revealed Palmer hasn't been 100% at all this season and is going to be assessed game by game.

Can only assume he won't get the surgery given its a world cup year.

He should have got the surgery at the start of the season. I don't know if it's his decision or the medical team, but it's ruined his season and ruining his chances of even getting a call up to the world cup at all. He's barely played under Tuchel and is currently behind Rogers, Foden and Bellingham. I don't see how he even gets in in his current condition.

He's going to have to get it done eventually anyway, so waiting like this is just going to hurt him next season too.

Probably not but he should. Looks to be way off and we have so many options at no10 for England, he might not make The squad.

Only way he makes the World Cup squad at this point is if he is free of injury and plays his way back to form. If he is still having the same injury issues then he should have the surgery now and at least give himself a chance to be back at full fitness next season.

Might already be friction between the club and the player regarding the injury.

I didn’t think you could get surgery for pubalgia? It was more just rest it and pray it goes away.

Enzo had the same hernia surgery. Sometimes it becomes too chronic that they have to repair the torn/tight abductor muscles.

I'd say all of the above.

His injury and form put his England spot in serious risk.

Club situation means we likely miss out on CL next season, means both less pay and major games missed. He knows if he forces his way out he gets a CL club. Both City and Liverpool want him and, my gut says, so do Arsenal.

Definitely not the Cole we all know is there. Injury, mood, form, club - probably all impacting him.

He’s quality, but there is a wealth of options for the World Cup and right know Saka, Foden, Rodger’s all ahead of him.

He looks like a player that is fighting back from his first major injury, can't do the things he usually can due to lacking that explosiveness and is very frustrated by it.

I think he's gone this summer.

Just seen a video online with him sitting down holding his strapped groin after the game. He's still injured.

He is that talented that we should rest him and write off this season.. play estevao.. and if he is ready come business end (assuming we have something to fight for ) that’s the chance I would take.

He looks unhappy but I’d say it’s more about himself than the club. He can probably feel his World Cup place disappearing.

He was also recovering from illness, no? He looked exhausted and gaunt whenever the camera panned to his face. Let's see if he makes an appearance next weekend against Palace.

I did say it will happen in the summer, easy money for Blueco and definitely happening if when we finish outside of top 5

2 days ago it was Palmer could be tempted to return to Manchester to play for his boyhood club United.

When they can’t even make up a consistent lie then you know to ignore it.
