I think good opportunity plus his request for playing time - no idea if true and one for the lawyers, but have read that only A list squad sales counted for compliance so this wasn’t going towards it.

If injuries FC hits again and it might with the CWC, maybe he gets some time.

Yeah could be. Don't see us selling him to Turkey, the USA or Saudi. or him wanting to go to them.

I feel sorry for him as the move to Fulham would be a nice platform for his career. Just hope they were the ones to f**k up the deal and not our fax machine again. Anyway 6 more months to evaluate his progress, go on Boy George!

Why did the deal fall through? I thought it was a good deal for us and a good signing for Fulham, strange one. At least we aren't short of left wingers this season!

If this was Hudson-Odoi before the injury, I'd have the same exact reaction as yours. That guy was something special. But George is not.

Based on? The Quenda situation will be interesting; Last season he was getting 60mins per game, but once Sporting banked the fee they have stopped starting him. He is now restricted to 30mins appearances. And has been pointed out we have paid £45m for an 18yr old RW who had 2 goals and 4 assists in the Portuguese league, when we already have Estevao.

It was dependent on Wilson leaving which fell through, so they couldn’t proceed. Might be revived in Jan, but I feel it’s another situation which the club should have sorted early in the summer.

Stats wise even some Man United players look like world class ones.

But the eye test does not lie. If after watching George for the past season gives you the feeling he's going to be a great player, fair enough. To me it does not.

Depends who you want to believe. The more likely version is, as reported, that Fulham changed their mind on selling Wilson to Leeds.

Pretty stupid squad building from us... We should have just kept George in the first place, not signed Garnacho and Buonanotte and signed Simons instead.

It wouldn't have made that much difference money wise and we'd have a stronger more balanced squad.

The word "Botched" comes to mind almost daily with this group running things. The way they dick players around is amazing.

Those criticizing the club here are probably missing 1 thing. That George has never really shown much to suggest he is a superstar in waiting.

I think he is a decent young player, but nowhere near good enough to consistently minutes at Chelsea.

The club then accepted a healthy deal from Fulham, and would have happily sold, knowing he was not likely going to play much for us… and the. The Wilson deal fell through, which has a knock on impact on George.

Those talking about Garnacho are (I think) deluded if they think the players are in the same category. Garnacho is for me much better already, with a much higher ceiling.
