And doing so out of position. It is doing nobody any favours.
September 21, 2025Sep 21 I have never claimed George is the standard we need only that Gittens and Garnacho are hardly that either and spending that money on someone who clearly is better would have been the better way especially if the manager is picking George over them😠The whole situation, throw in Madueke looking good is a cock up.
September 22, 2025Sep 22 Tbh I feel sorry for him.I’m pretty sure he knows he’s not good enough for us, and I also suspect that he knows he’s being dragged into middle of a war between Maresca and the owners. It’s not a decent thing to do really. He should have joined Fulham.
September 24, 2025Sep 24 Have nothing but respect for the lad. He’s kept his head down and focused on the football, despite all the noise at the club, his near transfer, being playing out of position. Credit where it’s due.I don’t know what the long term holds but based on what we’ve seen the last 10 days at this circus of a club, I have no issue with George getting more minutes he if plays with this kind of professionalism.Nice goal tonight. September 24, 2025Sep 24 Nice strike from the left side of the pitch, but he was still a very peripheral figure in the game.
September 24, 2025Sep 24 Dragged us through last night and saved Maresca's bacon. Play him in his best position and let the lad develop. I know lots on here want him out the door, favouring our new shiny 100 million pound pair saying they have a higher ceiling and potential, but the club didnt need to spend that cash this summer and im glad he stuck around and his move to fulham collapsed. Potential this and that - folks should simply say well done George. great stuff from him.
September 24, 2025Sep 24 Well done to George, what a goal! And not a worse performance than either Garnacho or Gittens.

Why was it easier to post a negative comment about his performance over something positive? Scored one, made one... what else are you expecting outside of influencing the result of a cup game or is it because it wasnt one of the 100 million bros.

I didn’t even post about any other player as they were all terrible. Fact I posted about George means I appreciate what he did as end of day goals and assists are all that matter and I even said it wasn’t entirely his fault.

September 24, 2025Sep 24 Georges goal was a fantastic hit. No doubt about it. If he ever hits another like that in his career he will be fortunate. The "assist" - and credit where credit is due because technically he did get an assist - but if we are all honest, it was a simple stabbed 2 yrd pass to a player with loads of defenders around him. We all want George to be a brilliant player for us. This nonsense about wanting him to fail, or not supporting him because he isnt a shiny new toy is a load of lazy tosh. Most on here are not optimistic about Gittens or Garnacho. Most hated Jackson. Most wanted Nkunku gone. Many wanted Madueke gone. None of those were/are youth products. But these kids dont get a free pass just because they were Chelsea youth players. Gilchrist was adored on here, but most could see he wasnt Chelsea quality in the long term. James is adored on here, and we saw from the start he was different gravy. If the yoof are good enough, we should celebrate them, and when we can see they are not good enough, then we should wish them well, and move them on. I believe that is the case for evil Saka, and 1 wonder hit and a 2 yrd pass doesnt change that.

If Gittens had scored that goal, the player, the owners, sporting directors etc etc would have been praised to the high heavens on here along with the " plan is working" adulation. And if George had made the pass that £100m+ Fernandez made that led to their goal , it would have have been proof positive that he's not good enough for us . He's playing out of position.Maybe support the lad and write something positive instead of writing him off . You , and no one else can predict how he will turn out yet .Btw he also got us out of jail against Fulham last season. I don't propose to take this thread off topic, however your comments about Tyrique and goals are interesting.
