I think we get top 5, if Maresca cant get the players up for it that alone deserves the sack, win all our home games apart from Liverpool and 2 away wins gives us 18 points =67

if we avoid defeat against Newcastle (not likely) and/or Forest we will make it

playing Liverpool (they should have won the league by then) should be a free hit AND Man Utd could be playing the Europa final 3 days after they play us

I had a go and felt I was being slightly biased and gave us favourable results from top 4 rivals.

We still finished 6th and that’s us having a pretty decent end to the season. Absolutely no chance we’ll finish top 4!

Seeing pictures of Tuchel with the England players is painful. We had a world class manager and sacked him because the egotistical TWATS in charge didn’t want to be told they are idiots!!!

Of the 5 games you predicted as wins for Chelsea, we have only beat 2 of them this season, lost 2 and drew 1..

In fact, as sh*t as Spurs are , I'm actually worried because the way we are forced to play now is nothing like the way we played at their place in.the exciting 3-4 win

To be honest there's 2 games left in the league that I'm confident going into, home against spurs and Ipswich. Games like home to Everton and Man Utd we SHOULD win but I wouldn't bet on it.

You don't get it @evissy , we've all been Chelsea supporters long enough to put up with disappointment and not win trophies. But what we are experiencing now is Maresca-Ball and the totally joyless style of football he insists on dishing up. The sheer dullness of the football we are playing is a step too far and something HAS to change.

To be fair maybe Evissy enjoys our current style of football? Could be one of the reasons he believes in our ownership?

Agreed. Especially when you factor in the distraction of Conference League games I think maybe 60 points is more realistic and even that would require is to improve our recent form.

Both premises are not exclusive. The fact that Maresca is sh*t does not mean that Poch was great.

We did the right thing sacking Poch, he was awful. I’m not going to be blinded by his 10 game form.

But without doubt he is/was 100% better than Maresca and we have downgraded - of that there can be no doubt.

Amorim does it at man utd, though he doesn't have the players, and they've been worse than under Ten Hag. But does he change? Postacoglu does it at Spurs even though they are flirting with relegation, because "that's the way we play, mate". These are not good managers. Good managers adapt to their players, their opposition, etc... They don't just come up with a tactic and do it forever everywhere they go.

I do understand it to a degree. They got successful by using said system and reason they got the big job in first place was down to that success so changing it afterwards can be kind of difficult

Poch was far from great, I thought he should've been here for about 2 years max.

My point is we were making some form of progress under him and had the players tailored for that style. The defence was a f**king shambles, don't get me wrong, but I was happy to see us trying something different, we were more direct and took chances.

Being plagued by injuries didn't help a lot either, which has been a big burden to Chelsea for years now. But going back to a pragmatic rigid manager who wants us to walk the ball into the box again is a total backward move. We've now just wasted two seasons trying to play two polar opposite systems and it's not fair on the players or the fans.

And there is now this clear disconnect from every department, from the board, the manager, the players, and the fans. We're singing players the manager doesn't want, which is why numerous of them are going on loan... It's a mess from top to bottom. What even is the plan at this point? From what I'm seeing we're trying to be a British Dortmund with this obsession of buying youngsters to then develop them and sell for profit... But at the same time, we keep messing around with different managerial philosophies.

So yeah, Pochettino wasn't a man who was going to win us trophies or get us challenging for the league. But I definitely think he was a good fit to get the foundations laid and get something moving for a better manager to take over. Instead, we spunked all that away for a Championship Pep wannabe, that's why many of us are saying we shouldn't have got rid of Pochettino. Not because he was a great manager, it was just a stupid move to get rid of him, especially for Maresca of all people.
