April 4, 20251 yr Beating Spurs is less impressive than his wins against Leicester and Southampton. Still managed to make hard work of it. I dream of the day a full back over laps and supports our wingers.
April 4, 20251 yr It seems we played the Poch system early on which is pretty natural given the brutality of the league and the need to pick up points early on. After that we have played Enzo's system which is aims for more control and possession. The transition has not been seamless. But what we have lost in scoring we have gained in control clearly. Early season games were up and down and there was no guarantee we won't let in 2 goals in moments notice. We need to defend with the ball to gain control but strike a balance between that and being potent up front.I think making the change was not timed well as injuries ended up costing us big in terms of results. But I think if Enzo is our guy he needs to coach his football. No sense of having him as the coach otherwise. I still back him and I think a new striker, winger and Djordje next season as our main keeper we can move forward as a team and hopefully snatch one or two wins against the likes of City, Liverpool and Arsenal. I personally think Champions league is a major distraction if we get it next season. However if we are to play European football it is rather CL than Europa for example. The club naturally wants it as is a source of major revenue and players are easier to lure if we want a bigger name from the market. And naturally I think we belong in the CL as a club but I want the squad to be ready for that as well.

Mourinho did it. Christ, even Guardiola has adapted to numerous styles to suit the teams he's managing.

Enzo being rigid is not really as big of a thing people make it out to be. He just explained after Tottenham you need to setup your team to fit the opponent. I don't think those are the words of a rigid coach. And young people need stronger guidelines than experienced ones.

I am willing to give him time to grow with the squad. Finding unicorn type coach like Pep or Jose is quite rare. Even SAF struggled at the beginning.Premier League is pretty tough. Ruben Amorim is a good example. I still consider him being a top coach but his circumstances are very hard with MU.

April 5, 20251 yr The run in for us looks really interesting to be fair. On paper we have the most winnable fixtures just ahead and the last are just tough but you never know how they go. Liverpool and maybe Nottingham away are the fixtures I don't think we get anything (depending on what the table is), but otherwise we can take points from any of the other fixtures. Our injury table looks a lot better. I think we are okay without Fofana and Lavia rest of the season. We are not conceding a ton which is a good platform to build on. Jackson is back with the running, now we need Palmer to produce. Hopefully that amazing assist on Enzo helps to open the cold season. The club calculated 15 points needed from the remaining fixtures which I think included Arsenal and Tottenham. So we need (according to them) 12 more points. Tough but doable. Hopefully the clear target helps the squad.
April 5, 20251 yr Newcastle with a game in hand, but have United and Villa among their next four rounds. Forest also away at Villa today and away at Spurs in a couple of rounds. We need Newcastle and Forest to drop points in some of these matches. If they don't and we f**k up in some of our next ones, then it's over for us.
April 6, 20251 yr Imagine feeling the need to rest Jackson, Palmer, Cucurella and Colwill for Legia Warszawa.Get this weak man out of the club.
April 6, 20251 yr As soon as he rested players, we weren't winning. Did the same a few times against "weaker" opposition and I don't think we won any of them.
April 6, 20251 yr He’s such a clown. Wish he would f**k off. Part of me hopes we don’t get champions league, so that he gets sacked.Awful football. Bet the bellend will praise and say we did well by keeping a clean sheet. f**k off, Maresca
April 6, 20251 yr Of all the brain-dead decisions he makes, asking Gusto to be the main goal threat has to be the most baffling. A RB who has never scored a senior goal in his career keeps finding himself in all the good positions in the box while the wingers are hugging the touchline far away from the action. Unbelievable really.
April 6, 20251 yr Author Said in the Matchday thread it was sabotage management. From ownership, to the sporting directors, to the manager. Everything is wrong.

April 6, 20251 yr In all fairness I didn't think our strongest 11 would beat Brentford away going into this, but Brentford looked very beatable today, we didn't need to rotate just for Legia at home.

Unbelievable really.Maresca has made me hate inverted full backs. I was all for it under Pochettino and was waiting for him to use it all season, he only did it towards the end and it worked, but he managed it a lot better than Maresca has. They don't play like inverted full backs for us, they play like roaming full backs. They're involved in everything, getting in the way of everybody, taking up positions we need attacking players in, making us look disjointed in attack and defensively. It's sh*t.
