June 18, 20242 yr Actually this season the games against City were not bad. Interesting to see how we would start this season and what's going to be our strongest lineup.
June 18, 20242 yr Important to have a decent start if we are to make the top 4. if we look at last season, it was the first 10 or so games that cost us the top4 going on the results over 38 games.
June 18, 20242 yr No excuses why we shouldn't be in top two after seven fixtures, could be a good time to play CITY, should be 6 wins at least, momentum builds confidence
June 18, 20242 yr It was obvious we’d get a tough 1st game - we normally do. To be fair the next few games aren’t bad though. I don’t care what anyone says the 1st game of the season is not random. I’ll prove it, Liverpool can’t play at home the same weekend as Everton for police reasons, similar for Arsenal & Spurs and Man City & Man Utd, so straight away the best they can claim it’s random with certain conditions, and those are the conditions we know about. Arsenal normally get a soft 1st match and Liverpool always seem to play a promoted team 1st game, very curious… Anyway, all that be said everyone has to play everyone twice so there’s only so much fiddling the Premier can do. Other than City, we should be picking up some points in the first few games.

June 18, 20242 yr Decent enough run in after the Christmas period. Need to be in a position where we are comfortably in the Top 4 before that chaotic last 4/5 matches of the season. Better for us that Champions League/Europa League group stages will go into January. Also potentially gives us another shot at the League Cup.
June 18, 20242 yr End of October and all of November is a very difficult month. End of the season is a bit tricky too. City at home to start. I don't mind getting the 2nd toughest fixture out of the way early.
June 18, 20242 yr Best times to play City (we still gonna lose though). Freaking international break after 3 weeks is always killing me

June 18, 20242 yr City’s final 5 games are a walk in the park come May, whilst Arsenal have Liverpool & Newcastle to face in their final 5 fixtures. Looks like a 5th title in a row for Pep, obviously not the worst thing (Arsenal failing again) but this City domination has became dystopian.

Although I'm not convinced the general narrative of City falling off post Pep (atleast straight away) will come true it would be hilarious if it happens and we've timed our run (with Paez joining) to perfection and gazump Arsenal straight away.

Freaking international break after 3 weeks is always killing me I actually don't mind the one in March because it's quite nice to get a breather after months of relentless club football but my word 3 in as many months at the start of the season is utterly excruciating. Surely they can spread them out a bit more evenly over the season?
