August 30, 20241 yr Sancho grew up a Chelsea fan in Camberwell, South London. So that is a good thing. I think he is a good player. The issue is why do we need so many wingers/attacking mids? where does this leave Chukwuemeka? Does he have a loan lined up? pedro neto madueke. nkunku Mr.flelix Cole Palmer ... August 30, 20241 yr Ornstein just said we've signed Sancho on loan with an obligation to buy next summer.

August 30, 20241 yr I would rather we'd gone for Trossard to sweeten the Sterling deal. That doesn’t make sense either with the amount of players we have but it makes more sense if it's all about getting Sterling off the wage.

August 30, 20241 yr Clearlake transfer strategy is like when you go shopping for a new laptop becasuse you desperately need one and instead come back home with a couple of used microwaves and a donkey.
August 30, 20241 yr This time next year there will be strong emotions when that obligation kicks in. Either cause we're delighted and can't believe our luck he's ours, or utter disappointment that we'll have to commit to signing him. Let's hope it's the former. Edited August 30, 20241 yr by yaz

Not an option, an obligation. Even if he's sh*t, yes. They did a loan for this year's financial books and the permanent transfer will be registered for the next financial year that will begin July 1st, 2025. Romano saying the fee was set at 25M.
August 30, 20241 yr Sancho is a very good footballer, if he replicates the form he had last season in Chelsea shirt then the rumoured obligation of £25m is a bargain. I don't really think we needed him but I'd rather have too many good players than not enough. Maybe it's just the toxic cloud of Man Utd that didn't bring the best out of him, who knows.
August 30, 20241 yr Only makes sense if Mudryk is off. Which isn’t happening. edit: Should have loaned him to Strasbourg for free. That would have made sense wouldn’t it!! Edited August 30, 20241 yr by SimonH

The problem is not his quality as a player but his lack of discipline (reported he’s late for training, for example) and his laziness. We already went over that with Felix, he’s done alright in the first game, but we’ll see how he fares over the season. And we are gambling again with Sancho. Not required for the risks that are involved.
