August 31, 20241 yr Will be an initial loan move subject to PL ratification. Obligation to buy if we finish in the top 14. Purchase fee is around 20m to 25m. The higher we finish, the higher the transfer fee.
August 31, 20241 yr If you go through the Sancho thread at RedCafe you will find it funny the way they act like United is going to instantly improve now that he is gone, even though Sancho has played like a total of 80 minutes in 4 matches for them for the past year 😂 They signed him for 73M, sold him to us for 20-25M. Basically a 50M loss, but somehow a good deal for them haha. And then they wonder how Chelsea is able to sign so many players and still cope with all the rules. You will hardly ever find a club that is worse than United at selling their players for the slightest of profits.
August 31, 20241 yr Not going to pretend I wanted this signing or am particularly excited as I'd be lying. But I do hold one crumb of hope, Marescas system does have wingers in 1 v 1 situations a lot, so hopefully this will bring a Sancho closer to the BVB version than the United one. If we got him for Poch however this would have been an even more obvious flop than Lukaku. Edited August 31, 20241 yr by Argo
August 31, 20241 yr Everytime we sign a player who make very little sense, I always check who represent him and everything click.
August 31, 20241 yr I have no idea if he'll be any good or not but my issue is when and where is he going to play? We are so stacked in attack, even if maresca somehow ignores the owners and leaves out mudryk, we still have too many players for the front 3 or 4 places. Can sancho play anywhere else? What type of winger is he? Edited August 31, 20241 yr by Simplymo

Palmer, Nkunku and Felix can play through the middle. Sancho isn't needed at all. We've just added more bloat to a really well balanced attack. If we do sign him on a permanent deal, what is going to happen when Paez and Estevao arrive? The focus should have been on a striker. It's the missing piece to this attack. If we do sign him on a permanent deal, what is going to happen when Paez and Estevao arrive? Exactly, I completely forgot about the two wonder kids joining us next year too. Even with all the games coming up it's just too many attackers to build bonds and understanding with. It will take years for this grp as it is to understand each other and be able to step in for each other seamlessly like man city for example. That sh*t takes time starting small then building up. Trying to do too much fks the process and it can actually take longer than its supposed to. So I imagine no more attacking players will be bought in any of the upcoming Windows then and we are set for the next 4-5 yrs! Lol, no chance with this lot!

Yep...anyway you put it, it still doesn't make sense how we will use all these players in 3 or 4 positions. They each need a lot of game time together. Maybe if its unlimited subs instead of 5. Smh

I've often wondered if it would work for football clubs to try adopting the NHL Ice Hockey concept of "lines", whereby you have groups of players (say LW, RW, CF) that train to play together, and could be subbed in en masse, or start games together etc etc. Obviously our usual level of injuries would play havoc with that idea LOL.

I would have thought eghbali and Todd have seen enough games to know its only 5 subs and they can't keep coming on and off during the game, lol. But...if they suggested a North vs South competition (I honestly can't remember if it was them or if someone online made it up) maybe they are taking that into consideration as part of the rule changes. I really hope all this is some weird nightmare and the owners know what they are doing...
August 31, 20241 yr Maybe there is a fear that Neto and Nkunku could get injured again considering their history so we certainly have cover. Would have preferred a striker but I think we will get goals from our attacking players without playing a traditional number 9 (a bit like Liverpool). Guaranteed starter is Palmer, the rest does look exciting and I am hoping to see wingers taking on their full back etc (I’ve always liked wingers as exciting to watch and I am pleased we have fast pacy types as opposed to Beckham types who aren’t known for beating their man but just put a good ball in. Pointless for us with no proper number 9). For me Palmer at 10, with either Felix or Nkunku as the 9, and then any 2 from Neto, Sancho or Madueke on the wings looks exciting. i suspect Jackson will still play though, frustratingly, and for me Guiu doesn’t really feature (not ready) and Mudryk would be an impact sub. I’m more worried about central midfield as we are only a couple of injuries away from having to play a defender for example in the centre if 2 from Lavia, Caicedo or Enzo get done but that is for another thread….
August 31, 20241 yr So, our 112th winger and we still don’t have a centre forward? The mind boggles. Oh well, at least we have a lot of options for who can replace Mudryk at or shortly after half time.

August 31, 20241 yr If Palmer is going to be the 10. then Madueke and Sancho on the wing makes sense. Surprised we have gone for him yet maybe there is logic.

I'm not convinced a poaching striker is the golden bullet people think it is. Look at what happened last time we brought in stat padder to "finish what we create".

One that’s strong aerially and intelligent with losing his marker. Only thing that works to our benefit is that bar City, none of our rivals have that kind of striker either. Hoping Felix as a false 9 works.
August 31, 20241 yr On the clubs main site there still isn’t any mention of the loan of Sancho whereas every other loan, transfer in or out and contract extension is. Means therefore that at this point in time the PL haven’t sanctioned the deal nd that is interesting.
August 31, 20241 yr So for LW, RW, CAM we have: Mudryk, Sancho, Felix, Palmer, Madueke, Nkuku, Neto That's a lot of players. No idea how he's going to keep them all happy.

If I had to guess. Sancho and Neto for LW. Madueke, Palmer and Christo sharing RW and CAM between them. Felix rotating with Jackson. Mudryk the only odd one out really barring an injury crisis. Manageable for this season, it's when Paez and Estevao come the confusion starts.

If we add Jackson and Guiu, that's 9 players for 4 attacking positions. Not too bad considering that you need two players per position. Only one surplus. Probably going to be Mudryk
