Jadon Sancho

2 for each position.

LW - neto/ mudryk

cam - palmer/nkunku

rw - sancho/noni

Up top - toney or osimhen/ felix

most of these can do a job anywhere around the top positions, and give fluidity.

Just need to sell sterling and jackson now.

If we’d have got the City Sterling this wouldn’t be a debate. But we don’t, we have this version of him and I think we’ve all seen enough to want to see the back of him.

Sancho initially at Dortmund and then once again last season on loan was fantastic. That can’t be denied, he’s not even been a total flop at Utd, there’ve been glimpses of that player but under a manager as gloomy as ETH he was never going to thrive.

If it gets Sterling gone, reduces the wagebill and essentially upgrades on Mudryk (who I still believe will be a baller once he figures it all out, Serie A or Bundesliga loan is crying out) then it’s good business once again by the ‘clowns’

I was going along with you until you said the bit about Mudryk. We should definitely not go anywhere near Sancho.

I don't think this is football related both clubs trying to balance the wages we sign Sancho on reduced wages helping Utd get his massive wages off the books and vice verse with us getting Sterlings wages off the books.  Both clubs trying to swap their problems in an effort to save money and then maybe football wise fingers crossed it might work out.   It amazes me people actually get paid a fortune for this kind of thinking.

Dortmund indulged his attitude issues. ten Hag wouldn't and Maresca won't.

Look at what players like Rashford get away with there. More to the relationship between TH and Sancho than meets the eye

Don't go near him. Sell Sterling bring a striker and we are sorted. Still got to make space for Estavao, and Paez.

Estavao just been called up to brazil 1st team, we need to make sure this guy has a good path, as the top Brazilian talents are the most sought after, and having Brazils best player, increases the sponsorship opportunities massively.

Sancho is just another road block.

Sterling has 3 years left on his contract. Man U probably won’t give him more than 3 so why would he take a cut in wages? If he goes at lower wages it’s because he was paid to do it and that doesn’t help balance the books.

He still has ambitions to play for England needs to play football, preference to stay in England, Utd fan apparently!  All factors which will make him consider a pay cut.  Don't think he's happy sitting in the stands every week even if he's getting paid a fortune.  Also I don't think Utd are going match his current wages under the new regime.  I don't think anyone is apart from a Saudi club.

He is asking to be paid off before he leave though to make him whole. His contract here is still worth £51m, no way is he leaving all that money on the table. We will need to pay him £10m+ for him to move anywhere on reduced wages.

Most of the ones I've talked to blame the manager over Sancho. It's only Ten Haag that's had these issues afaik

Unfortunately it's Ten Haag that makes the decisions.Go on Red Cafe to get a taste of what the fan base think. The majority want Sancho out.

The Sancho Sterling swap narrative doesn't sit well with either set of fans.

Sancho is Juve bound; agreement with Utd on 1yr loan + obligation to buy.

Can’t believe some fans wanted him here. Glad he is off the table because our SDs will take in any stray.

Tbh I don’t even know why Juve is after him let alone us when we have so much attacking talent. They just got two new wingers conceincao and gonzalez. Where as if we were to get him i see madueke leaving which would be a big shame.

Won't sell Sterling, can't sell Sterling. If anything a loan at best with us still paying over half his salary

Yeah it's looking that way. It was reported Sterling said he wouldn't go out on loan though.

Him and Chilwell are the only real concerns, none of the other players we are looking to move are on big wages.

If neither Sterling or Chilwell move before deadline, then according to Maresca they will get no minutes here.

So I guess it depends on whether they want to play football or not. It would be a sad end to Chilwells chelsea career,  I remember Malouda, Alex, and Anelka were in the same boat under AVB.

money over minutes..so much for Sterling wanting to get back in England squad

Ambition maybe, ability wise and getting ahead of others in the pecking order very unlikely. He’ll be close to 32 for the 2026 World Cup and very few wingers that age still have the speed and skills needed. Some reports say that his Chelsea wages/bonuses could be as high as 70m for the next 3 years and if he gives up half somebody has to be willing to pay him 200k+ weekly. Taking a pay cut and walking away from a potential 30m+, in the next 3 years, are very different.

That would be a bit like when Bale made huge money while not getting time at Real.

Irrespective of what he wants apparently England want to win the 2026 World Cup and using players in decline isn’t likely to help with that. He’s more suited to a MLS swan song. He should have a chat with Beckham to see if he can be teammates with Messi in Miami.

This has been so badly handled. There really was zero reason to banish Sterling, Chilly and Trev from the first team squad.

I can accept wanting to sell them. I can accept telling them in private that they wont be used. But to do it so publically and then banish them from even training with the team - it is poor form, and irrational.

If we planned to sell them, then perhaps we should have considered that before bloating the squad. Now there are too many players, it would be impossible to give them playing time.

Sancho was there before Ten Haag and he was sh*t then too. I don't think he was all that great for Dortmund when he returned last season either. A couple of goals and assists, the odd good performance here and there, proving that once he was taken out of the system that he thrived in, he's not even half the player. Exactly like Timo Werner.

I think the only reason we are linked is in the case of a possible swap to offload some of our "unwanted" players. I highly doubt we will be in for him under other circumstances. Notable that the links died down as soon as it became clear that United were not interested in Chilwell.

This one still seems to have legs. Hope we don't get him.

I don’t understand how anyone can think this is a good idea given the current size/quality of the squad.

Seems Sterling is staying.. now that is a real mess
