Heard a couple of times he was limping towards the end of the game - totally missed that. Hopefully minor, if anything. Might also explain the Jackson turn of events beyond Delaps hammy.

He was holding his calf but he looked fine, probably just a bit of cramp.

Another headed goal and how great is it to see simple headed goals and we also know he can use his feet too.

Seems a great acquisition to me.

He has a real test on his hands now if he plays alongside Jackson. Wacko's anticipation, movement and thought processes as a centre-forward are 10 seconds slower than Pedro's.

And as for Jackson's finishing and heading ability, don't even go there.

Wait wait. Even Maresca doesn't think he is a 9

Probably not the kind of 9 he would utilise in his preferred set up but he's played the majority of his career as a striker.

But proving more effective playing as Sconnie outlined.

Just a quick random Brighton lineup last season and he play behind wellbeck almost every time

Played striker 19 times in 27 apps last season.

I know there was a period of time where Welbeck was actually good (He started v us away if I recall correctly) so he probably got moved around to accommodate.

Where do you get that number?

Either I am super lucky/unlucky or he doesn't play st. Because I have clicked random 6 matches from last season and all of them is him playing behind st.

Nvm finally got one. Him and Rutter are kinda Brighton backup st which is what I expected.

Honestly, this is not important. 3 games in he doesn't look like a st. Far more comfortable when he is allowed to drift wide and receive the ball half turn than playing with back to goal.

Transfrmarket is very accurate for this kind of information.

This was more a combination of Welbeck being in very good form and Pedro having problems with the manager if I recall right.

He’s the kind of striker that will look comfortable anywhere in attack. I prefer to have him at striker and I’m sure thats where he will play most games despite what Maresca says.

I hope we see more of him at no.9 - looked superb at CWC. Perhaps harder to do in premier league.

If we had no plans for him as a no.9 then it was madness to enter season with only one striker for that role.

He's a no.9. It's just that he is also our current best No.10

Nvw, Maresca basically does not rate Guiu

This can’t be surprise to people? It’s been pretty obvious, he would have to score non stop to force Enzo to start him.

I was being nice. He basically say he is $h! t.

Hato looks extremely raw yet he started. Fofana hasn't played football for 6 months? Yet he started.

First time tonight where I saw signs that he isn't a natural striker. So many times he didn't anticipate the cross. He was constantly on his heels.

I also thought that, once again, Maresca's tactics hindered him. Had too much work to do on the half way line, but that's not his game. He's better in attacking areas, dragging defenders out of the way.

I thought he was disappointing tonight but I will cut him some slack, I think that was his first game in champions league and it’s a really strong team he had to battle against.

He’s only 23, he will get better with time. Hopefully next season if we get champions league again, he’ll wise up and cause more problems.

He seems a bit like Nkunku to me, second striker, 10, out wide. Better suited to it in this league than nkunku.

We are back to how we were in February onwards. No actual strikers.

I think having Pedro and no striker is not an issue. As usual it's the lack of tempo and progressive play when we have the ball. Thats the biggest issue this club is dealing with.

Doesn't look 100% fit. Said to be an issue before the Brentford game.

I think you are looking at it the wrong way. Is he better fighting cb, running the channel or he is better at playing between the line?
