I wish I could it’s sh*t slow football I’ve supported chelsea for sixty years and this is depressing times rosenior won’t last long having his strings pulled by the yanks upstairs we never get a decent manager why they own us

I think you’re just projecting your dislike of the owners on Rosenior.

With Lavia and Essugo constantly injured we've got no choice than to play Caicedo every game which is sh*t for him, but there are no other options.

And Santos could be injured now too.

Yep so it's gonna be back to the Enzo and Caicedo double pivot. Hopefully Santos isn't out too long.

That or James is returned to midfield and Gusto and Acheampong split right back duties.

Our depth is f**king awful.

Aye... remind us again how you feel about our sporting directors Sconnie?

I think some of the residual negativity toward Rosenior stems from being our unpopular owner's selection. It being a selection with football not being tbe obvious priority.

However he deserves a clean slate and a fair chance to prove himself. Early signs are better then I think some are willing to recognise.

He has got some starting line ups badly wrong but he has proved he can recognise that and make positive changes mid match

The football still isnt always great but it ks better than under Maresca and you dont turn round an oil tanker overnight and under Maresca we played with less pace than an oil tanker.

He is recognising the potential in Santos which Maresca massively neglected. On the flip side, like Maresca, he is still preferring some piss poor cente halves over Acheampong.

Neto has been consistently poor yet still getting game time however I feel that is more an issue of alternatives. As wingers go we have one quality prospect in Estevao, one bog standard Neto, one forgettable Gittens amd one God awful Garnacho. Estevao is starting to get more game time which is to Rosenior's credit. Be interesting to see what we do in the summer window f we can somehow get rid of Garnacho and Gittens.

And we are winning games. Yes its been a fortunate run of fixtures to start with but wins build confidence and by hell we needed that.

I also sense, and its a guess' the players like Rosenior a lot more than they did Maresca.

For a young manager with very limited experience I actually think he has done fairly well so far. Whether he will go on to turn us into a team we can honestly feel could challenge for the league in a couple of years remains to be seen.

I got that impression from Cole Palmers post match interview yesterday. Man of few words and not one that sounds like he simply says the right things because he should.

Not a bit negative towards Liam the younger, I’m hopeful he will do a good job. But I know things are stacked against him with the woeful pricks running the club. Like all of them before except the FSW he has my full support, until he doesn’t.

How’s Roesy for a nickname? 😅😅

We need to win the next 2 league games to make up for the horrible "1 win in 9" run.

So far I'm happy with the results. I'd rather we get ugly wins than dominate every stat possible and leave with a draw against a team we should be beating.

He’s doing better than Maresca against the bottom half teams but will he be able to grind out results at Anfield or Villa Park?

He’s been very lucky with the opposition we’ve had since he came in. I’d be crapping it if he was to begin after the Burnley game upcoming.

We should have a pretty good idea how good he is by the end of March after a tough run of games.

We've been doing what we should expect to do in the league, beating dross like Wolves and West Ham.

The result against a in form Brentford was good, I credit Rosenior and the players, especially Sanchez, for it but we have to also thank Lady luck for how poor Brentfords forwards were on the day.

The rest of the league results Rosenior has had are ones we should expect to win, not worthy of handing out flowers for, and we likewise should expect to dispatch Hull and Burnely with ease as well.

However Leeds are a good, hard working side and a long standing rival. Beat them and I will happily praise the team and Rosenior for it.

Then our run in is against sides where every victory gained is one worthy of praise until we reach Forest, where we should expect wins vs them, a dross Spurs and a cr@pped out tired Sunderland at that stage imo.

Arsenal (A)

Aston Villa (A)

Newcastle (H)

Everton (A)

Man City (H)

Man United (H)

Brighton (A)

Forest (H)

Liverpool (A)

Spurs (H)

Sunderland (A)

Now here is where we get to see how Rosenior handles some very different, good teams tactically and mentally.

Agreed. When we lost to Leeds earlier in the season we were totally bullied by them. Big TEST for LR.

Rosenior will be judged on this season in how we do in March.

Arsenal, Villa and Everton away, Newcastle at home, the CL knock outs and a probable 5th round in the fa cup.

A bad run there and we are looking at a shocking season, a good run and it makes up for the Maresca winter.

That 6 month is a myth. What usually take months/years/seasons is signing players.

But in term of putting their imprint on the team, nope It doesn't take long. You can tell pretty quickly what manager want his team to do.

A manager’s philosophy cannot be fully implemented when they assume control during the most congested period of the football calendar, particularly when fixtures occur every three to four days.

While it is possible to observe a manager’s intentions through team selection and initial tactical adjustments, these early indicators do not reflect the complete or mature version of their approach. Without the benefit of a full pre-season — which provides the necessary time for structured training, tactical development, and squad cohesion — the manager’s ideas remain only partially realised.

Which in itself is very unfair considering of how poor shape our squad is beyond our starting XI.

Perhaps. But a decent manager will get us through that month unscathed.

The honeymoon will be over then and if he's Potter 2.0 then we will see the cracks open up massively.

Unscathed against top of the league, 3rd and 2 teams weve struggled against for years? Hardly likely.
