Oscar for Pogba + cash doing the rounds.. Thoughts? Pogba would be a brilliant signing imo but I wouldn't want to get rid of Oscar, I think Oscar still has his best years ahead of him and he has played a hell of a lot of football in recent years and we should see the best of him this season after having a good rest.

Partnered zouma a lot for youth teams in France. Rather put faith in ake.

Abdul Baba Rahman (21, Ausburg/Ghana) has been linked with us a few times, from what i've seen he's a very assured left back, pacey and a good cross. He had quite a few standout performances last season, limited Robben for the most part against Bayern.

I think our squad could benefit from a CM more than we get out of Oscar so this would be smart. We need to free Cesc from the deeper role as Jose is clearly not going to give Oscar a try in that. Pogba-Matic in that deep role and we'd have the best duo in the world.

Dembele to Chelsea would shock me. I rate him, very good with the ball just sometimes sloppy. Levy selling to us though ... not convinced

Waste of a squad place signing Dembele, no better than what's already here and does not offering different.

He can't even get into the Spurs team in arguably their weakest position. Average player, doesn't do anything RLC can't already do. 

I'm not entirely sure what to make of Dembele these days, for a few seasons he was excellent, transformed from a very competent striker at Fulham to an incredibly direct centre mid at Tottenham. Obviously he's faded in the past couple of seasons and as a result I'm not sure it's particularly worth taking the risk, I'm inclined to agree that we could probably get RLC to fill the same role in the squad, possibly even Ramires.

I Just don't get the logic behind the Dembele Interest (If the rumours are true of course) 

 

I don't think he is home grown either so it cant be that....

 

I guess Mourinho is trying to make next season a little more challenging than the last one

I've been a fan of him for a while. He's a nice player, he's got all the tools but I think the criticism has been his ability to put it all together.

I'd be intrigued to see how he did in our team.

I have always liked him especially when he went into midfield at Fulham. He is a big strong powerful player but also has a lovely elegant style when he has the ball at his feet. The problem is i don't think people know where his best position is because he isn't creative enough to be a number 10 doesn't shoot enough let alone score and in midfield i heard he keeps hold off the ball for too long.

That's the criticism I always heard of him. Maybe he'd compliment Matic and Cesc nicely but I don't know if he has the end product we'd need there. He's fantastic on the ball though so if Jose could get the best out of him he could be a bargain.

I think we need a bit more of a goal threat from some of our Midfield Personnel, I think Our back 4 got more goals last season than Fabregas, Matic and Willian

 

I don't believe we have replaced Lampard at all in the middle of the park in terms of Goals. I know there are not many Midfielders out there with the Goal output of Lampard but Dembele I don't believe is the answer.

 

If we take Costa and Hazard out of our squad I struggle to see where the goals are going to come from.

 

I'll be disappointed if we don't bring in any marquee signing (e.g..Griezmann) who can bring some attacking venom to the team in the absence of our 2 Big hitmen

With Cech and Drogba leaving this summer you can't help feeling that the club owes us fans a "good will gesture signing to make us all feel better about the outgoings.

I don't think there are many, if any, players who can consistently score from as far out as Lampard could. Oscar is our best option, but we don't really see him shoot all that much. Think he's the cleanest striker of the ball that we have. With all the underwhelming players we've been linked to and Mourinho's talk of strengthening the squad, I imagine internal improvement from the players we already have is going to be key next season, and Oscar is the one that needs to step up the most. We're a much, much better team when he's playing well.
