I have seen Kounde play 5 or 6 times this season. He is horribly inconsistent and too small to stand up to the physical play in the Premier League. Fofana is a proven PL player who would cost about 1/3 the amount of Kounde and be much more effective.

Surely worth at least giving him a shot as a back up. If the new owners prioritise the stadium refurb above big money transfers then we might have to look at him. I’ve no problem with that. Dijon sterling got a mention today as well.

Azpi was one of the best CB's in the league for several seasons in a back 3 and is the same height. Lazy argument. How many teams even play with big target men strikers anymore?

The Leipzig loan was terrible, they should never have loaned him to a team that didn't need him and recalled him after his back injury and sent him elsewhere. Sheffield United 2020/21 were a disaster, but he's apparently been playing really well at Venezia. https://totalfootballanalysis.com/article/ethan-ampadu-2021-22-the-welshmans-resurgence-in-italy

How many teams even play with big target men strikers anymore? Have you seen Kounde play? He has not played very well this season, particularly defending and building the ball out of the back. It’s almost as if he was disinterested at times. Teams bring up their CBs, who are typically 6 feet plus, on set pieces. I don’t see how Kounde is going to match up well in those situations. i also have little faith in Scott McLaughlin and the scouting department. They signed Lukaku who has been a colossal failure. McLaughlin also pushed to take Saul on loan vs signing Tchouameni who is one of the best young DM in the world. Fofana would be a much better signing compared Kounde. He is bigger, stronger and has proven he can play very well in the PL.
April 27, 20224 yr Speaking of Scott McLaughlin. Any mummers that new ownership will keep or dispose him? I imagine the new owners will take a look at our books over the past several years and spot the wasted transfer resources that were flushed down the toilet. Edited April 27, 20224 yr by Sconnie Blue
April 27, 20224 yr I would much rather have a 6+ foot defender than someone on the smaller side. Best CB's in the league are all relatively tall.
April 27, 20224 yr Pau Torres seems the tallest and most polished from what I’ve seen. Kounde would probably be ok as a RCB but wouldn’t ever allow us the flexibility to go 4 at the back.
April 28, 20224 yr Some Chelsea fans site page on Facebook says TT wants Harry McGuire to replace Rudiger. Lmao. United would love us big time if that happened.

There will no longer be an open checkbook to write off transfer mistakes such as Kepa, Lukaku, Werner, etc. Chelsea clearly needs a sporting director to help build the first team from the academy and transfers. McLaughlin would be one of the first I would replace in Chelsea management.

Lukaku for Reguilon plus cash adjustment ? if they want to throw in Kane or Son I would be Ok with that as well :-) Edited April 29, 20224 yr by Sexyfootball
May 4, 20224 yr Add that straight into the transfer budget for the summer, easiest money we'll ever make 😂

A superstar over there is an average footballer in a Chelsea shirt. What makes this young man any different, the fact Tuchel knows him could be a major factor. Apparently he's valued at £50-60m but RB want to keep him for another season which I wouldn't be opposed to, would allow for another year of scouting.
