If we are going to loan Zouma out it suggests to me that the rumours are true and that we will bring in a CB this summer. I dont really feel we need a CB though, Terry,Cahill,Ivan and Zouma plus we have Omerou and Christensen it seems pretty strong to me.

The Guardian is now reporting the Zouma to Sunderland rumour and they mention in the same article that we still retain an interest in Varane. 

I don't think we have any reason to sign a centre back. Terry and Cahill will presumably be the starting duo after performing so brilliantly last season. Ivanovic can provide cover, and may find his playing time at right-back limited assuming we sign a new left back, allowing Azpilicueta to slot back into his natural position. I don't think there is any reason to believe that one of Zouma or Omeruo can't fill in as fourth choice.

 

If anything, for me the stronger argument against including them in the squad would be that it could be a waste of their time and they might get more playing time elsewhere. With their level of talent (and especially after Omeruo's brilliant World Cup performances) I can't imagine there will be any shortage of takers, even at a higher level than Middlesbrough or Saint Etienne.

If we did sign Varane however im not gong to complain.

Haha yes, he plays (or played apparently) for Charlton. Under Chris Powell he never really started but he came into the team towards the end of the season under Riga. I don't think he was anywhere near good enough to win Player of the Season but then again I assume the voters watch a lot more Charlton games than I do.

 

The article has very little credibility, there is no evidence for the jump from 'Poyet is leaving Charlton' to 'Poyet is joining Chelsea or Man City' - they even got his age wrong (by a whole five years). I can't imagine he'll sign for anyone big, he's like a less good Mikel; I don't see why we'd need him when we already have the real thing, as well as van Ginkel waiting in the wings. Nonsense rumour, quite hilarious though.

No,no,no. It's took me long enough to learn to spell Azpilicueta.

He'd provide a different option no doubt. Speed in behind. Dortmund are bringing in immobile and ramos so perhaps he fancies moving on.

Most of the rumours about transfers to and from us really have died down, looks like the focus is more on United, Liverpool and City. Maybe we are finding Atletico as hard to deal with as we do with Porto.

 

Which would be odd, I can see how Porot are dark with us over AVB but given the big favour we did for Atleitco with Courtios and them getting away with using him against us for free you think they would be a bit more receptive to us.

Aubameyamg is pretty good

Watched a YouTube vid but of course you can never tell from them but looks to be a decent finisher with blistering pace, if we were to sign this guy think from what I've seen I'd be happy
