    There's a lot being made over his knee injury, it was in 2016 and only kept him out for just over a month, so it can't have been that serious. The rumour he had keyhole surgery means maybe it was niggling him and a small operation was done to sort it out. We wouldn't have paid 40 mil if he wasn't fit, I can assume the massive delay was us doing extensive checks and the medical team were satisfied. Our star player was in a cast and none seems too worried I think too much attention has been given to his knee, the power him and rudiger bring to the spine is something we missed last season I'm glad we addressed it and I think these 2 signings will be much better than people think.

    Sky Italia (usually a lot more reputable than their English counterparts) say Arsenal have offered Oxlade-Chamberlain in a straight swap for Matic.

    Think i'd take it but try get a few million off them on top first with him being into his last year of contract.

    It's been four years already since I've had an account here mate. Same amount of time that I've had an account on the other Chelsea forum, too, where I currently stand at 3,000+ posts if that's relevant to you. It's just that I've started posting there first and kept going while lurking around here from time to time.

    Can Chelsea please bring in a player of high quality who offers productivity? JUST ONE? Hazard is fricking flaky at times and without a determined Costa leading the ranks I am starting to dread the upcoming season.

    Mata has now played more games for Man United than us. It feels weird, always thought he was world class here. At United he hasn't really looked like the magician we all knew.

    Its hard because we won the league after selling him, but I still feel annoyed with Mourinho for selling him. He was a Chelsea darling and imo he really should have stayed. Great player and bloke.

    He'll go down as a Man utd player instead of a Chelsea player, which is a damn shame. It pisses me off, because as soon as Jose joined, I knew Mata would be out the door, even though he'd just won 2 PotY on the trot, and I'm sure I said it here and was slaughtered by the usual people, but it was so obvious Jose would get rid of him and bring in someone less talented, who tracks back more.

    He was great here because he love Chelsea. He is playing for United because he needs game time.

    José eventually realized it was a mistake, and he saw that Oscar who can mark doesn't have the creativity so he rectify it by bringing in another player who can't defend but is highly creative and then we won the league.

    It didn't help that Mata's Utd career was hindered by sh*tty Moyes tactics amd LVG's slow football.

    Mata's key strength was speed of thought but under those two he couldn't really show his worth.

    Jose plays his wingers and 10s like fullbacks and B2B CM so it doesn't really help that much last season
