What nonsense. The club isn't likely to spend that amount on Belotti (his release clause), let alone a player six years older than him. The club simply don't shop in Higuain's age bracket, and haven't done for a very long time. Aubameyang would be an anomaly, but Higuain would be a step toward absurdity.

The rumour comes from Tuttosport, which is basically the Turin/Juventus equivalent of Marca. Not beyond the realms of possibility that Juve are feeding them bullsh*t as a bit of payback for us going in hard for Sandro and possibly pipping them at the post for Danilo.

No way do we throw £80m+ at a player close to 30.

I'm doubtful we'll spend anything like that on a player this summer but if we did I would imagine it would be on someone like Belotti who you'd get 8-10 years out of on the investment. 

I wonder if rlc loan to palace is a possible sweetener towards a deal for benteke. Lukaku gone, morata staying, ab off to cash rich milan, PEA overpriced for a 28 year old. Who is left to turn to?

If we end up with Benteke, i don't think i could be more underwhelmed. The guy is so damn lazy, he only plays well when he feels like it. He goes through periods where he is good and some people think he is a world beater. Sticking with Batshuayi would be a much better option, the guy looks hungry to prove himself every time he plays. I don't think we would ever get the same lazy attitude we would get with Benteke.

If we getr Benteke i doubt that we will end up in the top 4. And Conte probably would be mad and leave us now or next summer.

And no it`s not a b.s. or he would already sign the extension we offered him.

Our rivals get most of their top targets, as well strengthen their squad very solid, and what we did? Did we really improve on the areas we need? So far nope.

And we are downgrade on striker if we change Costa with Benteke.

We need to upgrade, not getting worst players.

If we sign Aubameyang I can see Conte getting the sack and Thomas Tuchel becoming our next manager (and if/when Tuchel takes over he'll go with 4 at the back, something we don't have the players for atm imho - perhaps the beginning of a slow descent into mediocrity).

Sorry for the pessimistic outlook, blame the situation with Diego and our inability to wrap up deals for Lukaku or Morata/Belotti (as it stands).

Hopefully we'll sign Morata or Belotti and Conte extends his contract.

If our rivals were so brilliant at strengthening their squads, why will this be the fourth season since any of them have won the league, in some case they were nowhere near winning the league.

That doesn`t mean every year they will fail short right ?

I do think we have worst squad then City and United, but we have a lot better manager then them.
I`m pretty sure Conte would have won the trophy with United or City, and as well if Pep or Jose was leading us, we would not won the title.

This is of course just my opinion on the topic.

Same here. Seems people who are talking about Benteke knows little about him. Maybe they should go back and watch him at Liverpool. I will take Ighalo or Vardy over him. But I don't actually want any of them.

Don't forget he struggled when he joined a big team in Liverpool but rediscovered his form when he joined an average team. And he won't come cheap!

Benteke wasn't great at Liverpool as they don't suit his play style.

Benteke is a poor man's Lukaku. No way should we go for him

Because he is our only sub option currently in the roster, so it would make sense for conte to give him a chance as there is a slight possibility that he may be in the squad next season
