What are your expectations for Robbie

Featured Replies

Top 3 would be fine by me. The team is all very new and it will almost certainly take time for them to create some proper mojo.

I just hope we dont lose our bite and end up like Arsenal for a few seasons. No sir!

Top 3 would be fine,I still feel this is make or break for Robbie,

Yeah he needs to have them playing for Roman to be happy I reckon. If we are a long way off the Champions League positions after Christmas he'll not see the season out.

Interesting one. Obviously the suspicion exists that he is only keeping the seat warm for Pep, who will probably be available next summer. That means Robbie has to impress or this will be his only season as our "permanent" manager. Obviously we all hope he does. Our form was poor last term in the league under him, though there were mitigating factors (he had to rest his best players for the knock-out games, we had a hectic schedule, we had some very tough league fixtures, etc etc). However, this term if he doesn't impress in the league he is out. Top 4 is an absolute must, he will know that. Really, given the signings we've made and the money spent, we should be challenging for the title. I see no reason why we can't. Unless he wins the CL again I suspect our league form will decide his fate. This will be a true test. He did wonderfully last year we all know that, beyond any of our expectations, but this, IMO, will give us a better idea of his managerial ability.

I expect to challenge for the prem , with the players that have come in it's what should be expected. Winning back to back champions league titles would be amazing but it's not something i expect because it is such a hard thing to do.

Realistically:

PL: Top 3. Top 4 at a minimum. If we finish outside the top 4 again with the squad we're assembling then it will be unacceptable.

CC: Don't care if we win it, but I'd like us to progress at least a few rounds, giving the youngsters a real shot at getting some game time.

FA Cup: I think we can win it again, or at least reach the 1/2 final or final.

CL: It'll be incredibly difficult to win it again, but 1/4 finals at a minimum I think.

They must achieve top four this season and preferably be safe there before the final game. But it is not unreasonable to expect a decent title challange out of them that survives to the last month of the season. Too much to expect to actually win it I think.

Difficult to expect too much in the cups as a 3rd round away tie at City or even worse for us Liverpool would be a big ask no matter how good we are this season.

I think that we could expect to be crowned World Club Champions though. The European sides have been pretty dominant in recent years and we've only got to win 2 fixtures to achieve it. That could also take a little pressure off Robbie as it might not be the most highly regarded trophy but it is a great title to have!

Like when United sang Champions of England, Champions of Europe, we could sing Champions of Europe, Champions of the World!!

Even though he seems to come across as one of the nicest blokes in football, the man who won us the champions league and FA cup double and pulled us out of what was turning into a disaster of a season, I still don't particularly rate him as a top manager. It would have been criminal not to give him the job after what he has done for us, but I honestly feel that he is just covering whilst Pep has his year off.

Realistically, as long as we have champions league football next year I will be happy. A decent run in the FA cup and at least quarters in the champions league will still be a success, but he won't keep his job. He'll have to win the league or champions league to keep Roman from pulling the trigger once more as I think its pretty clear that Roman wants Pep. If we have champions league football, all of our new signings can have no complaints and will stick around and then Pep will come in and Robbie will go down as the Chelsea man who won Chelsea the Champions league.

Sadly I don't think Robbie will cut it.

We can't mount a title challenge with the team we have now, no point even expecting it. Young, most haven't played at top levels and it's a whole new team. Only way that would happen is if teams around us played awful and I can't see that happening with Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle and United already improving with their signings so far. Think we should just about get into the Top 4, nothing more nothing less.

Would want us to win the FA and CC cups or at least get to the final/semi final. Not expecting much in the CL, doubt we can win it again. Especially not now that Barca have improved with Alba and Villa coming back. Assuming we avoid Madrid and Barca, quarter finals would be a reasonable showing.

Should definitely be winning the Club World Championship, no doubts about that.

Top 3 finish, attained playing good football. Cups are a lottery, but getting to KO section of the CL is a must too. Realistically, we have to give a young, exciting, but new to the EPL team a chance to settle in.

We need to be there or there abouts come the end of the season, winning the league is phenomanly hard but id expect to be in with a chance going in to the last month

Frankly, I'm terrified. That is a new feeling for me when the season hasn't even started yet.

We have practically bestowed sanctity on Robbie for saving our season, that seemed irreedemably lost by December. How on earth is he to come close to such a success again? We rode our luck so many times...

But then again, we are Chelsea, we can expect anything. In Robbie we trust (she said hesitantly).

So: top 4 finish in the league, quarter finals Champions League, quarter finals FA Cup, lose Charity Shield and... wait for it.... winners of the Super Cup, World Championships and the League Cup.

It depends who he feels his strongest midfield is...if he continues to play lampard and mikel in midfield then he will end up getting sacked there's no doubt about that but hopefully he will see sense and put some legs in that midfield in the form of mceachran and oscar

I dont see us mounting a title challenge....Just looking at the City squad and they have players who have proved themselves at a high level and who have had a good time to become familiar with each other. I think they will be difficult to overcome....

To be honest, i would be happy for us to win the World Club cup, Super cup, Semi's of Champ league, decent cup run in FA or League cup, and qualify for champ league next year.....

Our young players will have then had (hopefully) significant playing time to gel together for the season after....

excited to get started though!

I personally cant see us winning the league, I just believe that a jump from 5th to 1st in one season is too much. Both United and City will be strong, City even stronger after winning the league so I don't believe that we will be able to catch them.

I'd hope for us to get the final of the F.A. cup.

Top 3 in Premier League.

Last 8 CL.

I would hope .. no expect a top three finish, get through our group in the CL (anything else is a bonus), and maybe a decent run in one of the domestic cups.

I actually think our 'new' team is going to be better than a lot of people seem to think.
