I have a feeling that Jose might actually pull off the seemingly impossible: Torres's Revival.

If he does all bets are off as to who the greatest manager of all time is.

Random Reporter - "So Jose what's your greatest achievement Winning Treble with Porto or Winning Treble with Inter?"

Jose - "nah my greatest achievement is reviving Torres - long after I retire people will remember me for that"

For the first time in a while, I don't know which striker to play against City.  Torres is on good form, Eto'o looks like he could hit a barrel load after his first...Good headache for Jose but I think Torres gets it. His extra work rate will be invaluable.

Great performance.

2 goals, one against the bar!

He's looked absolutely superb- in Europe. For a while now. It's the league where he just doesn't convince me. The Spurs game aside, his league performances haven't been the best of, and to be honest I still think Eto'o or even Ba should start against City. Eto'o scored a stunner last weekend and Ba had a great game against Norwich. The reason both these strikers aren't showing their best is that they aren't being given the chance hardly because Torres is always being picked to play.

Yes, he's regained confidence and looking good but I would like to see Eto'o and Ba for a bit now, because ideally we need more than one striker.

Thing is when a striker is in form then you don't just drop them because you fancy seeing another.

If they have fire in the belly and scoring then play them.

I haven't seen him much bad from him this season tbh. Good work rate and good finishing, and he shouldn't have been sent off against Spurs.

So far he's earned to be the main man in the rotation IMO.

Torres is always being picked? Eto has started more premier league games but yer ba deserves to at least be on the bench. Torres is playing better than any other striker at the moment and scoring more goals. But yer let's drop him .....

I was screaming at the screen - "Give the ball to Torres". My daughter, who is used to the complete opposite, thought I'd gone mad. Dare to dream but a Torres in that kind of form week-in week-out would make us formidable.

Yes, he was superb. He IS in Europe. That was my point. He's decent in the league, but no better than Ba and Eto'o. Incidentally, Eto'o is the only striker to have scored for us in the league so far.

My point is, surely one game break isn't going to halt Torres's form. An injury hasn't even done that, so I'm guessing he will still be on fire when he plays again should he miss the City game.

Of course it makes sense to play an in form striker, but how are Eto'o and Ba going to find form if they're forever being dropped in favour of Torres? What happens if Torres has a stinker and Ba and Eto'o are rusty from not enough game time?

Regardless of who is picked for City, at least whomever it is will be going into it off the back of a positive performance.

Now my preference would be Torres as he's been slightly better than the other 2 so far this season and it would probably be wise to try and extract as much as we can from him while he's in a confident mood, but it's not that clear-cut a decision for Jose to make.

Torres has to start. when he's played he's playing well..and he's scoring. Etoo looking decent against cardiff n scoring a goal dosnt warrant a start vs city. Need to see more of that from Etoo.

The team simply looks more dangerous with Torres on the pitch as of late. There was the suspension and the injury but, before that, he looked dangerous. He should definitely start against City

I thought his name was Floppes?

I'd revert back to Floppes if he reverts back on his usual goal droughts and invisbru performances
