with respect i don't think torres is the main problem in the team.he has been showing signs of being a decent player in the team recently and to be fair to him the centre forward position has been a poisoned chalice for most of our players for years  with the exception of drogba who was a one man show at times, even though he huffed at times.

 

midfield is where we are weak.lampard should be played in an advanced position in midfield,in and around the box he is deadly,.we need a player like makalele that would let hazard and mata do their stuff,and a player like suarez who doesn't need an opportunity to be put on a plate for him to score imo.

Nobody is ignoring it. It was a mistake made 3 seasons ago. Why go back to it over and over again? It doesn't build to anything.

If you had the chance to talk to Torres face to face would you call him a flop and ask about his salary and ask about how he feels about it all? Or ask him to sign your no. 9 shirt?(just kidding)

Give him more time? We signed him in January 2011 and in that time hasn't been world class once. 

 

You can ignore his wages and the price we paid for him. The bottom line is that he isn't even close to good enough for us. I don't care if he used to be the best player who ever lived. He isn't good enough and none of his performances have indicated that he ever will be. I honestly don't know how much evidence you need before you can see it.

A world class striker PLUS Torres and Ba/Lukaku would be just fine for next season, IMO. Torres will never be a prolific Prem scorer anymore, but he can still chip in with his share while said world class striker bags the bulk of them.

I'd say he's found his form. He's done exactly what would be expected of a striker all season now. He'll never be the player he was with Liverpool, but he's far from s**t. He WAS for the first two years here, but i have no problem with him now. I don't think he should lead the line next season though.

The chances of selling Torres are slim, i can only see him wanting to leave to go back to Ath.Madrid but doubt they will want him.

I don't expect us to be playing the likes of Sparta Prague, Steaua Bucharest or Basel next season (except in the group stages of the CL). If you put Lukaku in our squad and played him as much as Torres did last season he would have contributed FAR more than Torres did. If Torres stays he should be 3rd choice at best, but we'd be better off selling him.
