July 29, 201510 yr I'd take Hazard over Ronaldo everyday of the week. The only 2 players i may swap Hazard for is Messi and maybe Neymar. I'd take him over Ronaldo but that's mainly down to age now as Ronaldo is only going to decline while Hazard will improve. If Hazard goes on to be half as good as Ronaldo has been in the past 5-6 years we are in for a treat.
July 30, 201510 yr What a goal, identical to what he did against Arsenal last year ( until he got fouled in the box). Roanldo is all about scoring these days, and he has spent more time in the box rather than beating players outwide or from deep area, not sure it's a fair comparison between the 2. Ronaldo wasn't scoring 40 goals a year at 24, was he?
July 30, 201510 yr Also Ronaldo is a massive thundercnut, while our Eden is a modern day gentleman and thoroughly lovely chap.
July 30, 201510 yr I'd take Hazard over Ronaldo everyday of the week. The only 2 players i may swap Hazard for is Messi and maybe Neymar. I wouldn't swap Hazard for anyone, including Messi. I don't think Hazard is better than Messi, he still has quite a long way to go until he reaches Messi's level, but i think Hazard suits our game better than Messi would. Plus he's 4 years younger.
July 30, 201510 yr Messi is twice the player Hazard is. No matter how good Hazard is, Messi is better plus he scores 50-60 goals.

July 30, 201510 yr Maybe he is, but I doubt he'd get anywhere near the amount of goals he gets, in the Premier League
July 30, 201510 yr Hazard is Hazard, Messi is Messi. We haven't seen Hazard playing in La Liga and haven't seen Messi playing in PL. From what I see Messi is better finisher and has good free-kicks, in other things they're same. I will never swap Hazard with Messi because he's our talent, we bought him and made a fantastic player of him.

August 23, 201510 yr He really needs to get his act together. He done better in the latter part of the game. As I said in the Fabregas thread he falls into the 'not fit' category IMO, he needs to work hard and his form will improve. He, Cesc and Costa could do with a bit more time on the training pitch.
August 24, 201510 yr Will never understand why he slows down constantly when he has the capability to dance past 2-3 defenders seemingly on a whim. He still lacks the killer instinct of Messi/Ronaldo and seems unwilling to put himself on the pedestal above his team-mates and make himself the jewel in the crown he should be.

I don't know if that's necessarily true; there were times last year, during the period that Oscar and Costa were injured, that Hazard was more or less single-handedly carrying our attack, blazing a one-man path towards goal as soon as he reached the opposition half.

It'd be nice to see more of it. Its understandable that he slows up and tries to carve out some space when their box is congested, but when he gets the ball in their half and there's only a handful of defenders back, it seems counter-productive to slow right up and give them time to get back in strength.
August 24, 201510 yr Maybe he is, but I doubt he'd get anywhere near the amount of goals he gets, in the Premier League +1. Especially big nasty centerbacks that will intentionally try to break him every time he's bombing towards them. Granted he will 99% of the time manage to evade them but that 1% he could risk being shattered into a million pieces by some lumbering troll of a man.

I'm not disputing that he did, just that I would like to see it more often considering how difficult it is to defend against and how many defenders he can draw in.
August 24, 201510 yr Having a balanced attack will help Hazard. Now we have Pedro running amok down our right, he will draw more defenders over to him, and hopefully leave Eden with more space on the left to attack. He's been smothered a bit recently, 2-3 players a time trying to contain and manage him into the corners and stop him cutting back in field, that's the price you pay for being one of the best.

Heeeeey! Someone else sees how having Willian's offensive ineptitude affects other players in the team. Edited August 25, 201510 yr by TheChelseaBlues
August 25, 201510 yr Messi plays the other way to most, ambles round the pitch picking lovely little passes, then just explodes past 3,4, 5, usually scores or assists a goal....
August 27, 201510 yr Hazard has the capability to be brilliant and considered amongst the worlds best, he does need to have that killer instinct and shoot more than he does. There is no shame in being a little selfish as long as the end product is positive. Pedro will be a nice foil on the opposite side, has that killer instinct within and can dribble past others, as well as set up the goals, just like he did for the Guv'nor. Now, if only we could get Willian scoring A LOT more, wed have a nice rotation to play around with when Oscar comes back. Hell, we could even shift into a 4-3-3 to give Costa a bit more support when attacking.
August 27, 201510 yr I think the arrival of Pedro will help Hazard a lot, so as a full back who actually could stay on the flank and cross the ball. Everyone just wait him to beat 2-3 every time to setup the attack, and it's just not possible. Don't pinhopes on Willian score more goals, I believe he will keep up his 1 goal out of every 10 games stats.
