October 5, 201510 yr Can anyone actually say his game has progressed in the last two seasons bar his defensive side? The same issues he's had with his game are still there, and you can't use the excuse he is young anymore.
October 5, 201510 yr Can anyone actually say his game has progressed in the last two seasons bar his defensive side? The same issues he's had with his game are still there, and you can't use the excuse he is young anymore. He doesn't grab a game by the scruff of the neck often enough. Needs to learn to take responsibility in attack because he has the ability to do so. Just want to see him pick the ball up 30 yards from goal and look to beat a man (or maybe two) and head towards the goal, not the byline and basically look to be greedy and get a shot away. For a player of his ability he's not selfish enough, he has it in him to be able to score 15/20 goals from open play in the league every year but like you say his game isn't developing.
October 5, 201510 yr To me, it seems like the most-fouled player in the Premier league last season has said "f**k it", and that he will not get fouled nearly as much this season, which means that he will not do the one-on-one moves that he did last season nearly as much this season. Perhaps it is due to internal issues that we do not know about (Eva?, tired on Mourinho's rants? something else?), but whatever the case, he has changed for the worse.
October 5, 201510 yr It seemed to me very odd at the start of the year when he gave an interview and talked about how he would never be a great goalscorer because when he got 1 goal he was happy enough with that and didnt chase more. That concerned me at the time about his mentality. Serial winners are typically ruthless players who are never happy with what they have already achieved, and want to achieve more and more every game/season.Just that insight into his mentality may have revealed a weakness in him that is showing itself in his displays this season. And by the looks of it, he's not the only one happy with the success theyve already achieved. Where is the ruthlessness in this squad?

It seemed like he was too content with how things were and it read like he wasn't all that fussed if he moved onto another level.
October 7, 201510 yr I feel with Ronaldos form diminishing, despite the drop in form of Eden, he is Madrid bound at the end of the year for quite a large sum. If that was to happen (as everyone expected when he joined a few years ago) I really hope he perks up and helps push us to success this season.
October 7, 201510 yr He's good but he will never be as good as Ronaldo. I think hazard is good with passing but he's not too successful finisher. He will be 25 soon. I think at 26 he will be going downhill fast as Jose clearly overplayed him.
October 9, 201510 yr I'd just love to see him try stuff like that on the pitch. And I'd like to see him be more decisive in his attacks too. Far too often, even on break aways, he'll slow the pace down and invite defenders to take him on. Fine when he's in good form, but right now I don't think it is his best tactic
October 10, 201510 yr It's a mentality thing. He has the talent to do this regularly but it's not a major motivating factor in his game. Sometimes when I watch Arsenal play and see Sanchez score a goal, I'll tell myself "Hazard can do that too if he tries." Nevertheless, I respect Hazard for what he does and he is still our biggest attacking outlet. Edited October 10, 201510 yr by Zinc

October 11, 201510 yr Not really, he's finishing isn't as good as Sanchez. While that is certainly true, the main point is there is still a big area of improvement for Hazard's finishing. Why he doesn't push for the next level in that aspect is what concerns me.
October 11, 201510 yr This one. He sings again. http://sporza.be/cm/sporza/videozone/v_FIFAWK_voetbal/RodeDuivels/1.2465923
October 11, 201510 yr His dribbling and control at speed is fantastic plus he definitely has the ability for the end product whether its a finish or an assist. Im very impressed with how strong on the ball he is. I truly hope hell be at the bridge for many years.
October 11, 201510 yr It's just a matter of happiness, Gsuddaby. Keep him happy. My only worry is he may get frustrated with defences reading him to well he maybe needs another role that he can switch to.
October 17, 201510 yr Whats going on with Eden? Starting to get worried he's copping the Mata treatment
October 17, 201510 yr He looks fat and completely out of shape. Which is pretty inexcusable at this level and with his pay really.
October 17, 201510 yr Whats going on with Eden? Starting to get worried he's copping the Mata treatment Quite different in that Hazard is arguably the best player in the league at his peak. He will be back. But Jose needs to focus on bringing solidity back to our game. As with Mata, Hazard's work ethic requires others to compensate but not to the same extent. It's something I thought quite a bit about a few weeks ago actually. Playing the high work rate players - Willian, Ramires, Pedro, Oscar and just focus on being solid. Even without Hazard, how many teams can match today's unit on paper? Not many. And if we remain solid it will be a nice build-up to the top 4.
October 17, 201510 yr Whats going on with Eden? Starting to get worried he's copping the Mata treatment Would be hilarious if he forced another fine player out based on his style of football. If you ask me if Hazard would truly fulfil his true potential under a manager with a style like Jose, my answer will be no.
October 17, 201510 yr And yet he seemed pretty happy last season when he was playing the best football of his career. Under José mourinho. Who set his team up to get the best out if hazard. Even putting a left back in whose job was to just defend therefore allowing hazard free reign. But yeah, holding him back blah blah, bollicks, sh*te.
