Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Featured Replies

Its only a matter of time till he reaches some good form. The guy is too talented not too, when you have a season like he had last season i suppose its hard to really motivate yourself to do it again or maybe thats just me.

Thats a big mindset difference between the good and the great Messi and Cr7 have been consistently good for around 10 years....

Eden always starts the season slow, but this year has been more quiet than ever...he's our star man, he makes the difference, but when he's off, it's inevitable that we will struggle much more to win games

"I often ask myself what I can do to become like Messi and Ronaldo and score 50 or 60 goals in a season," Hazard told Sport/Foot Magazine.

"I try of course but I realise that I will never be a true scorer. It's not in me. It is mainly mental.

"At 2-0, not thinking that is enough for example. Sometimes I still think after a goal, 'that's enough'.

"I'm not in search of records like some other players... if I can score between 15 and 20 goals each season, I will be very happy.

"I'm at a peak of my career but I want to become even better every day. I'm not there yet."

Forever destined to be known as the 'Belgian Nedved'

You say that like it's a bad thing. Nedved did win the Ballon d'Or once.

Not intended as such at all, I absolutely adore Pavel Nedved. In fact if I had to make a 'favourite XI of my lifetime' he would be in it (over Hazard).

Ok. It's just that usually when people say stuff like that it's done in order to belittle a player. I mean, something like: "he's just an Italian Emile Heskey" or "he's just an English Jean-Alain Boumsong".

Nedved was one of the players in Serie A who I thought would've been a huge instant success in the Premiership. Fantastic player with a fair bit of skill, but more than that he just kept going and didn't mind the physical side of the game.

he's the gretest player to ever wear our shirt.

The shame, especially coming from someone with an Eidur Gudjohnsen avatar!

Well as great as Nedved is, it's somewhat disappointing compared to the idea that he might be called the 'Belgian Messi'.

In my defence, I'm somewhat drunk. (Lunch break whisky)

i have been watching the team since 1998 and he is better than zola but not better than robben so maybe he is our second favourite player of all time

Very debatable about the Zola comparison. Zola was incredible for us and is often in many people's best Premier League players of all time list, and we weren't even competing for the league with Zola in our team, that is how good he was. I think if Zola got to play with any Chelsea team of the Abrahmovic era he would have been even better. At the moment, i still think Zola is ahead of Hazard.

And i can name many more players for Chelsea that have been better than Robben for us. Lampard, Cech, Drogba and Terry are 4 that come to mind straight away. I don't think Robben can be classed as one of the best players to ever play for the club seeing as he was injured for large chunks of his time here and only spent 3 seasons at the club, his last season with us he only scored 2 league goals. I would actually put Hazard ahead of Robben now easily.

Marko Marin was known as the "German Messi", so maybe it wouldn't be such a great compliment to be called the "Belgian Messi".  At least he's not the "Belgian Marko Marin". :happy001:

He's just the Belgian Eden Hazard, which is good enough for me. Hopefully we'll see him back on top form sooner rather than later.

Not yet he ain't.

Zola's game was a lot more rounded than Eden's.

Moments like his scooped assist for Poyet's goal against Sunderland in 2000 is an example of vision we've seldom seen from Hazard just yet.

He was also a threat at set pieces and was able to take a decent corner too.

Eder Gudjohanson is an underrated player in are history

my favourite player for sure, a long with zola. Used to do eidurs celebration when i scored

Having said that, Eden isnt our greatest ever player, definitely not higher than zola

You forgot Makekelele.

I could easily have named Makelele ahead of Robben too, but if you think that yourself, why did you say that Robben is the 2nd greatest player to ever play for the club? :huh2:

sad to hear from eden tbh, sounding like he isn't up to the challenge at all. i think we all knew he'll never be like either, and i think u either have goal instinct or you don't and unfortunately, after seeing how he is so unselfish, he will never be prolific. this is the exact reason why he would be better in the no.10 position tbh.
