Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

Played more like himself, although I still feel his confidence isn't quite there, he cut back a few times instead of taking in his man, and he needs to take more shots still.

The mirror are hardly a reputable source, not sure about L'equipe.  But not a single quote from Hazard, just the journalist taking Jose's quotes and twisting them, then linking a possible move for Ronaldo.  Usual tripe.

Anyway, would anyone on here be upset if he did leave and we got Bale?

If we were guaranteed to get Bale then it would soften the blow, i would hope we could get another player of similar ability too though, someone like Marco Reus. If we had both Bale and Reus i could handle losing Hazard to Real Madrid.

I think its all rumor based on events surrounding him these past few days. I would miss him because:

1) Player exchange rarely happen. There's no guarantee bale's interested in coming here

2) Bale could be a hit or miss. Hazard's already a massive hit here, no need risking that

3) Personally I don't think bale's as good as hazard.

Did you see what Bale did at spurs? He's a phenomenal player, probably on the same level as Hazard.

Yes mate, I saw what bale did at spurs but there's no assurance he can do same here IF he comes.

Obviously, nothing is guaranteed.

Having said that, he has the experience of playing in the PL, a big advantage as compared to players who are here for the first time. He is more likely to adapt well to PL football than these new players.

Well der there are no assurances in football, I swear you just post stuff to cause a ruckus.

Lol. If you feel so, its your opinion and you're entitled to it. I was actually saying I would prefer to keep hazard than gain bale but if hazard truly wants to leave then he has my blessings.

You made a very valid point. I totally threw his PL experience out the window but it would be hard getting him as we won't be the only one interested if he does want to leave madrid

Real Madrid won't sell bale, and bale won't wanna leave.

Don't know.

The fans turned on him quite vocally and made it clear by kicking his car etc. that he was not well thought off in Spain.

Hazard would be a far bigger draw than Bale was for Madrid, he would also thrive by their attack based philosophy I'd imagine.

Bale lived in London before, loves it here and would be reunited with friends and family.

I'd not rule it out.

If Hazard can get back to playing well, i'd rather have him, but if he wants to leave the club in the summer, it would have to be for Bale in exchange (and money)

Is Hazard necessarily worth that much more than Bale? They're probably roughly on the same level of ability (but are good at different things).

I feel like we only have the advantage in three ways:

1) Bale is two years older

2) Bale has one year fewer left on his contract (but may earn so much more than Hazard that his contract will be worth more anyway - I can't find any reliable sources for Real's wage list)

3) In this hypothetical deal Real Madrid will presumably make the approach.

Yes, but in this deal it's Real who would want our player. We have no obligation to sell, so we can ask for lots, like Everton over Stones

I certainly hope you're right. Ordinarily I wouldn't ever bet against Real getting their man, especially if he wants to leave.

Despite the fact that we don't hold nearly as much sway as they do, Man Utd have given us all a glimmer of hope with their stubborn refusal to sell De Gea, and even managed to get him to sign a new deal. Whether that's to do with increasing his value or to do with him genuinely staying beyond the summer I suppose we'll have to wait and see...

They showed when they got Ronaldo when United insisted no chance (Purple Nose saying he wouldn't sell them a cold) that when it comes down to it they usually always get what they want.

With Eden though they will need to pay BIG
