Eden Hazard - Chelsea Legend

If you're carrying a hip injury it's only natural that you're hesitant about making it worse when on the pitch, and every knock you receive is amplified ten fold (not just physically, but psychologically too). It's a hindrance that effects everything about your game, I can only imagine how it affected Hazard (frequent twists, turns, etc). If he says he had a niggling hip injury as fans I think it's only fair that we give him the benefit of the doubt.

What a performance last night.  ::clap2::

Funny how fickle fans can be.

Go back to when Jose was sacked and you have people calling him a rat along with Costa and Cesc. He gets injured but people fAll into the media trap of him wanting out.

A return to good form and people suddenly realise how good he is. If we sell him without a world class replacement then we are really fecked

Why so cynical? He's already said he's staying.

Oh well, if hes said hes staying then that's that. No player has ever said they were staying then left, ever....

Hazard's  performance last night was possibly the best I have ever seen from him and he should be congratulated. His impact on the game was crucial to Chelsea and long may that form continue.

If he can maintain this form into the Euros he will have a big impact on the Belgian team. If you have an inspirational player in your team the form rubs off the other players and the whole team benefits. I thought I saw a bit more from a few players last night and I think Hazard's confidence and skill brought that out.

Lets hope he stays and inspires the team for the whole of next season.

Do people really think Hazard would fake injury and didn't give 100% all season just so he can be 100% for the euros lol lol lol you guys are really reaching. His issues like mentioned by his dad and even Guss he had a niggle but Jose wanted him to continue playing along with the Eva debacle which affected him more than people think. That damaged his confidence greatly. Just like it would any of you who have jobs but being forced to work while ill by what you probably feel is a demanding boss who is unreasonable you wouldn't give 100% would you. Footballers are humans too they get injured and ill too granted they get paid extortionate salaries which i would never agree with but at the core these young men are humans and as coach you are the parent who is nurturing them resolving squabbles keeping them happy and confidence up.

Why would last season standout player by a mile decide to not show up give up his title s best player in the league this season to save himself for a second rate international tournament.

so how does that explain him turning up very out of shape for pre season, and being unfit for the start of it. the difference between the way he played last season and this, from the onset, has been staggering. He got a massive new contract and has given us 9 months of absolute sh*te in return, and now hes had a few good games we should just accept that? Not me, I`m sick of players in this club deciding when and how they want to play, and even who for. Several this season have took the piss massively, including Hazard and they deserve contempt.

I just dont get the idea that hes "putting himself in the shop window" or "Just trying to impress before the Euros". Regaining form isnt something that makes the club want to sell you. You would think if he wanted to leave he would just tank the entire season ala DiMaria. He would play for Wilmots even if he had amputated his right leg, theres absolutely zero chance that he wouldnt start every game. Theres no need for him to "impress" the manager for four games before the Euros start. I just dont get the rationale behind this from Hazards perspective, he has nothing to gain from returning to form it if he wants to leave.

Regaining form before a transfer window makes other teams take notice of you.

Absolutely this i stated from day one when the issues started that something was wrong with his head and body and so far it's looking that way. To accuse a player of tanking a season only to show up at the end to get a transfer is so ludicrous beyond belief. You can absolutely see the difference in Hazard from day one to now in terms of body language explosive drives through defenders different guy now

So barring Willian at the start the entire team had been sh*t and were unfit so that's irrelevant

Not sure if it's just a coincidence, but Hazard has played some of his best football when Costa is not on the pitch. I have seen Costa (plenty of times) cussing Hazard in certain situations, like when he doesn't get the ball through to him, or loses possession.

Maybe it affected him and his confidence snowballed, maybe I'm wrong, but Hazard looked like a different player last night, he looked unplayable.

Maybe making Hazard captain could be the way to get the best out of him ? If he remains unplayable, and undropable, why not ?

If he has leadership experience to lead top club to the glory and he has the ability to help other players and be an example for every player in the club, then why not?

Hazard, captain, really?!

JT is a captain, someone who can lead the pack, organise, demand more, pushes himself and others in every game possible.

Until Hazard shows some of those qualities, he's no captain.

Certainly he looked more lively playing alongside Traore last night so may have a good point. Perhaps it could be argued that Traore is a more willing runner than Diego. Traore has the potential to be quality false 9 imo (if he isn't already).

Costa isn't technical enough to be on the same wavelength as Hazard who prefers quick short passes as opposed to Costa's running onto through balls.

It’s quite embarrassing even contemplating him as a captain given this season.

I don't quite get your reply.

It's not a reward.

Plenty have said that the captaincy is not as important a job as it used to be in the past. I tend to agree with that.

If we can get the best football out of a player (who was probably the 3rd best player on the planet last year) by giving him the arm band, then why would it be embarrassing ?

What on earth, I simply can't believe people agree with this.

If it's so simple they should all get together this off season and decide to win the premier league next year by playing 38 games in swashbuckling form.

He did shake off Costa after he scored his first goal against Bournemouth.
