Yeah, not like we don't have precedent of players giving up on a manager then magically finding form after they get sacked.

When did this happen exactly? Scolari is the only manager that you could argue the team picked up form as soon as he left, but from all accounts, he was pretty terrible here, and probably shouldnt have gotten the job in the 1st place.

The whole player power nonsense is media invented as yet another way to disparage our club.

Do people honestly beleive that a dressing room containing cech, jt, cole, lamps, ballack, and Drogba, would play poorly on purpose to get a manager sacked?

Personally i think it is absurd.

Exactly this. A muck spreading exercise by the anti-Chelsea press, stupidly lapped up by the knuckle-dragging plastic f**ktards amongst us, who have the nerve to call themselves Chelsea fans. And speaking of them...

Name them. And name the managers.

Or better still, name the players who you think are regular culprits when it comes to "giving up on a manager". Because from where I'm standing, the squad pre-2012 (and you're calling into question some big names there) looks markedly different to the squad we've had over the last two seasons. And they're not guilty either.

Apparently its only a kick in the calf. Belgium haven't got another game before Saturday so hopefully he can run it off. Not sure if Willian will be available but if he is maybe he could play on the left.

There is brigades for both, anti Mourinho and pro Mourinho when actually the truth to many things falls somewhere in the middle. I myself fall in this category as do many others.

Jose was one of my childhood idols (im 25, so as a 13 year old kid when he arrived him blowing United and especially Arsenal out of the water after years of suffering to them plus two titles with the style and ease i win them on fifa does leave a long lasting impression for all the right reasons) and i defended his work a lot 13-15, but those months in 15-16 are indefensible, he totally lost the plot and if i had to distribute blame i would give him 80% (board getting 15, players getting 5) and that's being generous.  The worst performance by a manager in PL history, the truth doesn't fall somewhere in the middle, last season is on Jose and could have easily been avoided if he didn't lose his head.

I tend to agree. I love the guy for what he did for us, and I was ecstatic when he came back, but looking back over the last couple of years there's a lot of things that have to sit at his door. The complete collapse of last season, the appalling treatment of Eva, losing Lukaku and KdB who are now valued at world class prices (and in KdBs case could help City keep us from many titles in future), and various other things. Oh and the temper tantrums just got to the point of being an embarrasment.

Agree about KDB, hopefully Real see him as a new pet project soonish to ease the pain however im not on board with Lukaku. He scores goals but i just don't think he has enough in his locker overall to make it at the very very top, a very good PL goalscorer is his ceiling in my opinion.

This is why I f**king hate internationals. The game has been over for ages. Why could they not just sub him off earlier, especially considering he played the whole 90 mins in a friendly game against Holland the other day. Fuming. I pray he is fine for Sunday and it is nothing serious.

Your post is similar to what Thomas Muller said about San Marino.

Disagree. Muller disregarded the opponent by calling them "amateurs" and basically saying game like this should not go ahead in first place. My point was that when Hazard was taken off because of the injury the game was already done and they should have taken him off. I was not stating "they should not include him in the lineup because they would win anyway."

You mean it's the manager's mistake? That's what I'm also thinking.

I have a hard time believing proffesional sportsman would deliberately play poorly, which is effectively match fixing.

Did all the players get together and decide to play poorly and get the manager sacked?

I just cant see that being the case.

In all likelihood a culmination of behind the scenes problems, caused a breakdown of trust between players and management, which effected results on the pitch, and loss in confidence was a snowballing effect.

I find it also strange how hazard is the one who is labelled as the main player that 'downed tools' when he was nowhere as bad as costa during that run, and he also didn't result to publicly undermining mourinho, as costa did when he threw the bib at mourinho for dropping him.

People like to have someone to blame when things go wrong, but when so few facts are available, how can anyone be feel so strongly against a player, or mourinho.

Personally I think they just gave less of a s**t overall, whatever it's cause was, not that they played s**t on purpose. When you're at an elite level in any sport, any negative change can substantially affect performance because the margins are so small.

I think the players especially Eden were mentally exhausted from everything that was going on at the club plus all the demands made for them, and mental exhaustion is not something you can shake off because well "think of the fans Eden". You could have the biggest Chelsea fan who also happens to be the best player ever on the pitch for us, but if he's mentally in the wrong place he would look like he "doesn't give a f**k" either.
