April 11, 20179 yr Rumour mill has kicked back into gear again today with "Real confident of signing Hazard" type stories doing the rounds again. Personally I don't think Hazard will have decided one way or another just yet. I think the thing being massively overlooked or downplayed is that Eden still has three years to run on his current contract. With that long to run on his contract I honestly don't think it's just a case of Real offering £100m or whatever. We are in position where we are wanting to build on a successful season (regardless of if we win the title or not the massive turnaround has been a success) and Hazard is the focal point of the team. We're not going to just bend over and let one of the best players in the world leave because £100m or £200m ir doesn't really matter because we don't need the money, we need the talent.
April 11, 20179 yr He loves London and loves Chelsea. Can't see him going anywhere this summer. We can offer Hazard anything Real can moneywise, so no reason to move.
April 11, 20179 yr Again it will come down to the player really. If his head get's turned by the Madrid talk then that's usually that, Real do it all the time and usually get their way when they set their sights on a huge signing. If Eden is happy here and wants a crack at winning the CL then Real have next to no chance, they are basically just hoping to unsettle the player so he pushes for the move. Money will mean little as unless it's Messi, Suarez, Ronaldo (bit late now) or Bale coming the other way which is never going to happen. Like FC has said we need to keep our talent if we are to be the best, we don't need money and he has 3 years to run. I don't expect Hazard to stay here until he retires but I think we will get at least one more season out of him.
April 11, 20179 yr Really don't get the impression Eden is someone to be swayed by money, or become unsettled by a 'big' team like Madrid. He's a smart, confident young man and knows he's playing the best football of his life at the moment. And he also knows how it can all go wrong after last season's showing. I think that's played into our hands as he won't want the pressure of a huge money move this soon after regaining form. He'll sign a new deal this summer and at least be here for another season. And who knows if we win the league again and have an excellent CL run he might stay beyond then? He's already said his family & kids are settled in London. Edit: Just seen today's speculation sources after a quick google... The Sun, Metro & Daily Star as the top 3... no need to be concerned guys Edited April 11, 20179 yr by Batshuayi

April 11, 20179 yr Eden just doesn't hit me as the kind of guy who would suit the 'Real' lifestyle either. When you look at the Egos floating around that club. Then you look at how Hazard is. The 2 just don't seem a fit to me at all.

April 11, 20179 yr They all strive to be the best and win the most though. Eden has always said his aim is to enjoy his career, winning is just the bonus. Will he enjoy the high pressure of Madrid fans? Doubt it.
April 11, 20179 yr it will come down to what eden wants. however, i think the board need to lay down their attentions for the club next season and onwards, and how he's a important part of our plans. we need to show him what we are looking to achieve and how we plan to do it. if a player knows the club has huge ambitions for the future, it can make a player think the club is worth staying at.

April 13, 20179 yr So Hazard has been nominated for PFA award PFA Player of the Year nominees And the nominees are: Eden Hazard (Chelsea) Harry Kane (Tottenham) Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United) N'Golo Kante (Chelsea) Romelu Lukaku (Everton) Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal) What are his chances do you think?

My worry is we'll end up with what United did in 99 when Ginola got POTY because United's votes fit spread out across a few players. With us Hazard and Kante could split the votes which would then leave someone else able to win due to them getting more votes because ours were spread out.

You put it appallingly, but I see what you mean Bobby! I'm just happy Delle Alleee or whoever he is didn't get on to the senior players list. I think Kante is equally as worthy of winning it as Hazard. Sanchez shouldn't have been nominated.
April 13, 20179 yr PFA did a poll on twitter and Kante and Hazard were by far the heavy favourites. Obviously its just a bunch of people on twitter voting but last time i looked Hazard and Kante had about 35% each and the reaming 30% split evenly between the rest.
April 13, 20179 yr I hate these POTY awards, goes against the whole idea of being a team game. I reckon most people who vote Kante are only doing so because they didn't vote for him last season, and now he looks like winning back-to-back titles with different clubs they feel obliged to vote for him now. He has been amazing and we would have struggled this term without him, for sure. But i still think Eden has been a class above everyone in the league this season. Same for the team as a whole, at our best we are amazing to watch, Kante and Hazard are part of that team, but lets not forget the rest of the players who have all been brilliant this season.
April 13, 20179 yr The lack of César Azpilicueta on the shortlist is criminal, the blinkered view of favouring attacking players for these end of year awards is boring.

My thought's exactly. 1 minute ago, Chelsbear said: Where is Luiz? He has been phenomenal this season. Was in the first half off the season, has been reckless at best since the new year. Hazard should walk this in.

Beat me to if Fc, absolute joke how defenders are rarely in amongst this. We could have kept clean sheets every game with Dave getting man of the match ever game and he would still struggle to be included.

April 13, 20179 yr Simply put, it's an individual award (which in the context of what is important about being a successful football team is pretty meaningless), and attacking players are naturally going to stand out more than defenders.
