If Hazard wanted to go and Chelsea refused I'm not sure it's worth the risk of another season like last year. I don't think they would refuse or both parties would agree he can move in a years time.

March 31, 20179 yr There's no reason to see him leaving, he is our best player and we've got a manager that going to make our club top class again. He feels good, he doesn't get criticized by fans or manager, he's one of the best players in the premier league, for me, he is the best. I don't believe he's a money player, I'm staying optimistic and believe he's going to stay with us in the next 5-6 years.

When the premier league was formed it was a manufactured product/cash cow. The biggest factor now is the monopoly over live broadcasting rights, terrestrial TV companies won't and cannot compete with the likes of BT and sky for the rights, and the armchair viewer is forced to pay to a certain extent if they want live domestic and European football. I wonder how long it will be before the WC and Euros are whored off to Sky et al. Perhaps I should have been clearer. I don't mean general inflation. Just within the sport itself. As you've mentioned, the TV deals contribute to inflating transfer fees and wages. Sometimes 1 crazy transfer can pull the rest of the market with it. Torres' 50m transfer did some damage to the market, especially considering how sh*t he was for us. Our transfers between 2003 and 2008 did some damage too, as well as City's. When Madrid signed Ronaldo and Kaka for 140m combined, no one really complained as we all knew these were 2 of the 3 best players in the world at the time and the last two ballon d'Or winners. But fast forward to 2014 and Madrid signing James Rodriguez for 70m or whatever it was did a lot of damage. And so has United's 89m signing of Pogba. You get other clubs during negotiation thinking/saying "well if player X cost that much, then this is how much my player should cost". Players use this in negotiation for their wages too. It's part of the game, unfortunately.

He could have gone to any number of clubs willing to offer him money when we bought him from Lille. (Btw that was a steal considering where transfer fees have gone since) He signed for us on the back of winning the CL. If we hadn't, and thus not had CL football to offer he would have gone somewhere else. He wants to make a mark and win trophies. He'd essentially be just another great player at Madrid and never really leave an indelible mark at that club but here he can be one of our greatest and most accomplished players ever Edited April 1, 20179 yr by TheChelseaBlues

I take [it] game by game. I try to play as much as possible. That’s it.” “Why do you want to put me in sh*t [with these Spain questions]? No, [I don’t fancy going to Spain], I’m very well here. I have stuff to finish this year. I have a contract until 2020. Voilà, for now I’m here.”
April 3, 20179 yr One of the rumour was based on he's taking Spanish lesson, but there's also report he's learning Chinese too, surely he can't play for 2 clubs in different countries next season He still has lots left to achieve for at Chelsea, he will stay regardless how the rest of the season unfolds. He had a good game on Saturday, almost unplayable at times. The only criticism I have is on a day like that, he got to step up and trying to score that goal than just being a great team player and set others up.

Even if he doesn't move at some point, when he crosses 30, he'll begin to lose some of that electric pace and that could begin to kill his effectiveness for a top club like Chelsea. But who knows? Maybe he can have a Zola streak in his 30's.

April 5, 20179 yr The real PFA player of the year. Our match winner in the big games for the upteenth time.
April 5, 20179 yr I bet those b@stards in Madrid will talk about how would they love to play Hazard after seeing his performance tonight. Tonight he took them on, rather than just being a good team player
April 6, 20179 yr Kante will get POTY but for me it is Hazard. Even before the game it was. Hazard seems to be a victim of his own success so it is like the barrier he sets to win the POTY award is 10 times harder than most players but he has been the most standout player over the course of season. He has had numerous amount of MOTM performances. A lot in big games as well while being the key player in the games against the much smaller teams. Don't think Kante had had that same affect over the season as a whole. as good as he has been. Hazard is just brilliant.

The players still have to vote and players from my personal experience tend to go more for the magicians. Irregardless though, Hazard absolutely deserves it. Other than one dodgy spell in January (in which he had a slight calf problem) he's been at it all season and has more MOTM awards than all of our other players combined. April 6, 20179 yr 12 official MOTM awards this season. Will probably duke it out with Kante for PFA player of the year
April 6, 20179 yr I kept telling fans on here When he was having a dip that he has a knock because if you watch Eden you could see his explosive drive wasn't there now he's back for a little while now he will be an absolute handful I can see team's trying to kick him getting players sent off and pulling players out of position leaving gap's

Some journos (Martin Samuel) do not like Hazard because of his dip in form last year and wouldn't vote for him. I still believe he had a knock and Mourinho persisted with him which hurt him through the season.
