November 29, 20205 yr https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eden-hazard/verletzungen/spieler/50202 Man, what's going on with Hazard? In the year and a bit since he joined Real he's suffered more injuries than he did in seven years at Chelsea. What's causing this? Odd scheduling due to the lockdown? Excessive training? Bad luck?
November 29, 20205 yr I feel bad for him that the move to Madrid isn't working out for him. He stayed at Chelsea at least a year longer before going Madrid and had one of his best seasons for us in the process. Seems like 7 years of getting kicked to pieces has finally caught up with him. Maybe we'll get him back be next season at a discounted rate. Damaged goods now.
November 30, 20205 yr Madrid confirm he has a hamstring injury and is likely to miss their next four games minimum. His 2020 highlights reel is going to be a blink and you miss it job.

It's difficult to know if he would still be so injury prone had he stayed though, for 7 years he was pretty damn sturdy and that wasn't looking likely to change any time soon, I would lean towards attributing moving clubs and all the little changes that come with that to the sudden change in his durability. I know he gained some weight before heading there as well but he has turned up to our pre seasons heavier and gradually leaned out during the season anyway, hell at the end of his last season where he should be at his fittest you have Luiz and co making fun of his belly after the EL final.
December 1, 20205 yr It's really odd, what's happening with him. Shows that moving clubs/different coaching methods/different training regimes can affect players quite a bit. Would be great to have him back here as a squad option in a year or two 🙂

However, I think his Chelsea career is well and truly finished, but never say never? Who would've thought Henry or Bale would've came back to their clubs?

With his skill and understanding of the game, there's no reason he can't do a Zola 🙂 Fitness permitting of course. and given his temperament, I feel he will be very happy just being a squad player as he ages.

I think when he retires he'll look back and say he had his best years here. Which is unfortunate for him, because he went to Madrid at the worst possible time. Although, who knows, next season Madrid could become a force.

Well we probably would have guessed that anyway - he was here between the ages of 21 and 28. Someone on Twitter mentioned that this might be inevitable considering his "hobbyist" approach to physical fitness and conditioning , the phrasing of which I found quite amusing... Plus you have to consider that he spent seven years getting the living sh*t kicked out of him by less talented players. It would be sad if he ends up on that Buffon/Zambrotta/Nedved/Ronaldo list of world class players who never won the Champions League though. It's a shame we could never provide a squad to match his abilities. We coulda been a contender!
December 2, 20205 yr He'll be 34 when he leaves Madrid, assuming he doesn't sign an extension and will probably cost too much to sign before that point. I can't see his body taking any more crap and being able to remain in top condition at that stage, not to mention he doesn't train and eat well. But who knows he could get lucky and come back here where things worked and find a second wind.
December 2, 20205 yr There is talk of Hazard going to PSG in exchange for Mbappe plus cash. I could see this happening as Madrid are currently in trouble and Hazard has had some issues there.
December 2, 20205 yr Since he went to Real Madrid he was unable to play more than 4 games in a row. He has had more injuries than goals+assists. One of the worst nose dives I've ever seen, before Madrid he was among the top 3-5 players in the world and at his best completely unplayable, he's one of the worst signings that Madrid has made in recent years and they lost to Shakhatar, Alaves and Valencia. Zidane got the best out of them but let's be honest they need a full rebuild, most of their players are washed up now, Ronaldo leaving for Juventus turned out to be a smart move for him.
January 4, 20215 yr If we have the option to help him get his career back then I will do everything to make it happen. His move to Real Madrid has destroyed everything he has done in his career. No matter what, I will never stop supporting him.
January 7, 20215 yr Apparently he turned 30 today. Hard to believe, it seems like only yesterday that we signed the hottest young prospect in Europe.
January 9, 20215 yr Ive been very surprised it has'nt worked out well for him at Madrid, I appreciate he's struggled to stay fit but i thought he would be a massive success in La Liga. Wonder how long it will be before they run out of Patience and look to offload, and is he a plausible option for us? Class Act, got us out of the sh*t single handedly so many times, it was time for him to try his arm somewhere else though and there's still every chance he will come good for them. I hope so.
January 9, 20215 yr I love him but no, players don't find suddenly recapture former glories after so long out of it at that age. Would be a disaster akin to Bale going back to Spurs or Sheva going back to Milan.

Tad Harsh, Bale's career has been riddled with injury and his attitude given the skills he's been blessed with is an insult to anyone of us that never made the grade. Hazard is only 30, and does'nt rely on just pace, he's not finished by any means imo

January 15, 20215 yr Sounds like it's really starting to unravel for him at Madrid now. Article in Marca today that the club is tired of him and most fans seem to have given up hope on him as well. I'd have him back if that was a possibility.
