March 16, 20215 yr It’s really sad. The game has been deprived of seeing one of the great players for two years. Don’t understand why Anyone would poke fun, laugh at/criticise him

I dont really see a way back for him at Madrid now, I can see him leaving in the summer, most probably on loan, because none is touching those wages with his recent injury record. Personally I would like to see him back, if we could strike a favourable long term loan deal with madrid, maybe with some caveats regards to how much wages we cover and how many games he plays. Im not expecting the same player that left 2 years ago, but i do think in time, and at a club and league he knows well, he can still be a world class player. I dont see this as a similar case to Bale, as I think Bale has lost motivation over the last 2 or 3 years, due to being left out of squads even when fit. Hazard just loves football, he needs to be back playing with a smile on his face. It’s Madrid’s problem won’t even take him back if he offered to play for free. As good as he was for us I have this lingering image of him turning up for a few preseasons out of shape, 5 games in to the season he was still spotting a tummy. It was always bound to take a toll on his fitness in the long term. You see the level of dedication and discipline your Zlatan & Ronaldo display and there is no wonder they are both still top players in their late 30s.
March 16, 20215 yr I would surely took him back as Didier came back to win the league in his closing period. but he is for sure not Didier fitness type and I fear all these injuries could have deeper impact

The only person i can think would get any pleasure from that news is that little sh*t in Swansea, hopefully he has grown up and Eden is fondly remembered.

I hope this is all a massive exaggeration to grab headlines and deter people from slagging him off for his miserable time in Madrid.

Apparently the quote is from someone within the Atletico Madrid medial team... So I'd suspect the guy might have had his tongue firmly planted in ihs cheek when he was saying that.
March 28, 20215 yr Looks like Madrid are planning to cut their losses. https://www.sportbible.com/football/news-transfers-real-madrid-planning-to-sell-eden-hazard-and-set-low-asking-price-20210327

Even for 40m, we get one good season out of Eden, that’s our money back. Even if he comes back a different player, it’s still a nice story and he can make an impact from the bench. I know I’d rather have Hazard than spend 40m on a Pepe etc.
May 6, 20215 yr Love it, he looked so happy to see the guys again, almost like he couldn't have cared less about Madrid. There was even a chap who came out to take him away from the pitch ha ha.
May 6, 20215 yr The Madrid fans and Spanish media are tearing him a new one unjustly tbh, he was not fit for the game and it was Zidane who picked him to start. He's also never a serious personality and never downtrodden, this is a guy who laughed at Alexis' mascot being taller than him in the FA cup final before winning it and was mucking about with his son whilst JT was pouring his heart out during his retirement speech. Laughing and being carefree is just who he is.
May 6, 20215 yr I can see why Jose was frustrated with him. He has all the talent but none of the mindset of a top player. Mikel came out the other week and talked about how Hazard was a poor trainer. It’s probably why he’s suffering with injuries.

May 6, 20215 yr They didn't like that laughing with your old friends is not the best look for your team just knocked out of the Champions League, as if being outplayed over two legs wasn't embarrassing enough for them. Terrible club, come home Eden.
May 6, 20215 yr I thought he did not that bad last night, to be honest. He had a couple of movements that were beautiful, but our defenders kept him on track. Credit to Azpi who bullied him most of the first half. Now, regarding his behaviour after the game, I can understand the reactions. Imagine losing the semifinals, not having had a good game for the team in two seasons (ok, not his fault, I get it), and then you see the player having a laugh with those that have humiliated the team... I love Hazard and I think he's Chelsea through and through, but taking off the blue-tinted specs, I see the point the Real Madrid supporters are making.
May 6, 20215 yr They called him fat and gave him abuse within no time of joining them, he owes them nothing.
May 6, 20215 yr I mean, I get why MADrid people are annoyed at him. I wouldn't be thrilled if it was flipped or if I was a fan of Madrid. But at the same time, if you know Eden, that's just who he is. Probably shouldn't be laughing it up with knee slappers 13 seconds after you've been knocked out, but also those are his friends. They're gonna run him out of Madrid aren't they
May 6, 20215 yr Would still welcome him back 🙂 as long as he's happy not to start. I'm sure he has much to teach Pulisic, Mount and co!
