I would actually be ok with keeping him around, i don't think he should be an automatic starter next season but surely he can still be of use as a squad player.

I think he looks pretty much back his old (pretty reliable) self since Jose has left.

Yes he has improved of late, but frankly he couldn't possibly have gotten any worse and let us not forget that absolutely disastrous defending of Ivan between August and December.

How the Club are considering a longer deal I cannot fathom.

Calling it as we see it isn't been spoilt he's been poor since midway through last season he worries me every game as much as love the guy i wouldn't mind seeing him leave but if he stays so be it. I'll always try give him the benefit of doubt considering he's a centre back placking right full.

He can't deal with good wingers anymore, I think sometimes experience is more important than skills and speed. Ivanovic couldn't even win one tackle with Martial, why is he always play?

Martial could score twice, thanks to Courtois at the first try and at the second half he had lack of focus. Most of the dangerous crosses came from Ivanovic's side. Also, at the goal, he lost Martial who got the ball first and created the attack for the goal.

Martial bossed him last time and was all over him again and then inevitably, their goal came from that side. What did Hiddink think was going to happen?

Great he had a volley saved.. on another day United would have had 3-4 goals go in from crosses from the left.  Woeful team management if you ask me.

He's been poor since beginning of last year and has barely improved. Why do we not put him in central defence instead? He is always backing up from wing back to the central defensive position anyway so he must naturally want to play there lol.

It's not his fault, it's the setup. He should have only played sporadically in that position as a RB. The amount of mistakes he has made would have given Rahman more than enough time and oppotrunity to establish himself at LB and David at RB. As things stand he'll be our starting RB next season, too.    It's one of the reasons I regard this season as lost. The PL is already gone but we're still too fecking anxious to give some new, unproven players a chance.

Something we have all known for a while is that Brana is a quality CB being played in the wrong position. This guy has to stay at CB. I can see him as an integral part of the team for the next 5 years, but not at RB.

I could never hate Ivanovic. What has been clear for some time though is that he is not a RB, he is a CB.

That's the trouble with Ivan, he has been pretty awful for the entire season, scores a goal and suddenly he is the messiah again.  I have said it for years, he is a CB and he needs to play there exchanging places with Terry / Cahill with Zouma keeping a permanent place alongside either one of them.  Whoever put him playing RB needs his balls cut off.
