Cesc Fabregas

out of all players we have, I would think he would be the one to calm the game like today but he did the opposite, in fact the main culprit for rushing everything that ended up in losing possession constantly..

He had a terrible game, but i would imagine it was joses gameplan to rush and try and counter

Was pants today but no problem as next week he would have a 90% pass completion vs Bournemouth and everyone would be like "Tbf, we have no one in the team who can pass like him, we need him starting". Clearly Cesc to Costa has been found out and he doesn't take the set-pieces anymore. He looks spent at 28 already. Can we give the hungry youth (RLC) a chance?

Every time we see his name in the team sheet, expect an ordinary performance and he rarely proved us wrong. Even Ivanovic managed to put up 2 decent performance after being dropped. Seriously, time to give Cesc a reality check.

To be honest I thought Fabregas had shown massive improvements over the past two or three games, but he was bafflingly poor on the ball today. Misplaced 12 passes apparently... and to think I was concerned with how Ramires might deal with Tottenham's pressing!

I don't think we should lose faith too quickly though, there won't be too many other games where we have as little focus on keeping the ball as we did today. Our next two league fixtures are Bournemouth at home and Leicester away - I fully expect us to dominate possession in those games and Fabregas will be vital in us creating anything going forward.

I know, I just want somebody to point it out.. Like I say before, there was no genuine build up gameplan from the manager, it's all about solid defence and counter attacking.. Even when we dominated posession in lesser games, we could see the struggle..

To be fair, he is the only player with a reliable ability to switch play, pick out players and his passing is normally better than the rest. Problem is he is too easy to dispossess, lack of pace, strength, defensive ability and midfield presence - which is a lot!

So... If he is to be in the side, let him play as the most advanced of the midfield three with a little less defensive load.

If Oscar could do some of what Cesc can do on the ball, I would be happy to see him dropped, tbh.

Oscar, though, is poor when it comes to cultured passing. He has a few neat flicks in him once in a while and gets involved in the give and go, passing and moving (often wastefully), but most of the time, Oscar's passing, final ball, etc, is below par. That being said, last few games he has played relatively well.

Agreed he ain't played to well, but Matic is key to Cesc playing well, Cesc is such a good player just watch how easily he makes it look, cultured and the metronome to how we play, his assists and eye for the killer pass are as good as it gets.

Watching him just jog around, barely put any effort into tracking back when the opposition is counter attacking, being beaten time and time again by a very simple drop of the shoulder... I can't stand it. He's so bad. How on earth is he still getting picked?

I think he does try and does make the occasional good tackle, just that he's not as strong/big as we need him to be. This raises the question though, how do other teams get away with playing a slighter DLP without facing the same issues? Personally I think Willian would actually be really good next to Matic being capable of beating a man or 2, has a ridiculous workrate, pretty good passing and isn't taking a spot from an AM who could actually create chances.

The constant inclusion of this player is my biggest slight against Mourinho.  Oscar (potentially) aside, who can play the roll Fabregas was brought in to do, and what significantly helped win the title last season?  Who else in our squad can splay balls from the midfield like Cesc can on his top game?  Or dominate it to compensate?

Because of tactics. They set up their teams to get the best out of the players they have, can we say the same about our's ? I don't think we can personally. We don't have the players to keep playing the way Mourinho want's us to play.

Loftus-Cheek gets frozen out for 1 poor half vs Villa (although I didn't see an awful lot wrong). Fabregas puts in a performance like that last week, and similar ones all season and his place is never in doubt. I know that in a winning team Cesc's creativity is a huge asset, but when we're struggling he is not only a passenger, but a liability. The double standards in the treatment of some players is poor management.

And Matic, both have been utter crap this season, and I mean CRAP !

Someone show him where the exit is!

I can't see him playing anymore. His paycheck is excellent, his position in the starting line is safe, but what does he offer? Useless player, huge difference between the last season and current one. Was one of my favorites, now he lost all my respect, seriously. I don't understand why players like Loftus-Cheek have to sit on the bench while this genius walking on the pitch. One "bad" half for RLC left him out of the squad for few games, and Fabregas is our worst player since the beginning of the season continues to play every game. Why is that?
