March 6, 201511 yr We have had quite a few poor games away from home with both in the side, Tottenham for one. Sorry Davey but going to have to disagree with you on this one. Let's look at the away games: Burnley 3-1. Win. Oscar & Fabregas play. Everton, 6-3. Win. No Oscar in the match day squad. Fabregas plays. Man City, 1-1. Draw. Oscar a non playing substitute. Fabregas plays. Points dropped. Crystal Palace, 2-1. Win. Oscar & Fabregas play and score. Manchester United 1-1. Draw. Oscar & Fabregas start, goal conceded following Oscar's withdrawal. Points dropped. Liverpool, 2-1. Win. Oscar & Fabregas play. Sunderland, 0-0. Draw. Oscar & Fabregas play. Points dropped. Newcastle, 1-2. Loss. Oscar & Fabregas play. Points dropped. Stoke, 2-0. Draw. Oscar unused sub, Fabregas plays. Southampton 1-1. No Oscar in the match day squad, Fabregas plays. Points dropped. Tottenham, 3-5. Loss. Oscar withdrawn at half time. Fabregas plays. Points dropped. Aston Villa, 2-1. Win. Oscar plays, no Fabregas in match day squad. West Ham, 1-0. Win. Oscar & Fabregas play. 4 games where they've both played and we've dropped points. The United game, we conceded and drew the game following Oscar's withdrawal. Sunderland, bad performance. Newcastle, bad performance... No matic, no party. Spurs, bad performance. Oscar set up the opening goal. Poor defending from Cahill, Ivanovic and Willian meant we were 2 down at half time which saw Oscar's withdrawal. So 3 bad performance to date away from home where both have played. 5 very good wins when they've both started, Liverpool and Burnley wins particularly were two of our best performances of the season. Big contributions in the Palace game which was a good result after being reduce to 10 men.

Big contributions in the Palace game which was a good result after being reduce to 10 men. Yes fair enough. I'll have a look at those games in a bit more detail when I've got time. The thing that stands out though upon immediate viewing is that things started to go awry away from home from Sunderland onwards, and Sunderland had us on the ropes, I think fatigue played a part because we hadn't rotated. Since then Fabregas and Oscar have only played three times together away from home and we've lost two.
March 6, 201511 yr I'll also add that Fab can play number 4 role and number 10 role, Jose has said this many times, and was part of the appeal when we bought him. I have no complaints with his signing or the sale of Mata, I understand it and it has worked out for us, big time. There are defensive concerns however, particularly as he has faded, and this has caused a change of emphasis from Jose. Liverpool 1st leg, Oscar didn't play, 2nd leg both started and we played well, the best we have played in the last 6 weeks, particularly after Fab went off injured in the second half. I just don't see Jose going for Matic and Fabregas as a midfield two anymore away from home. I think it will either be 433 with Ramires in there or 4231 with Zouma in the 2 alongside Matic. That's my hunch anyway.
March 7, 201511 yr I think to say Fabregas offers nothing defensively is far from the truth, he usually tops the list of most km's run per game, even if he isn't making as many tackles (which he could be I haven't seen the stats), he's certainly putting in the leg work and closing out the space which is just as important.
March 7, 201511 yr I think the Tottenham 1st half has put a doubt in Mourinho's mind about playing a matic, fabregas, and oscar midfield. I think our best performances have been with those 3 playing this season, and if you take into account the away games we have left, only arsenal in the top 12, I can see him playing that midfield from now until seasons end. Until we are playing fluently again though, I doubt we will see oscar start away in the champions league, or probably the arsenal match.
March 12, 201511 yr Ramires, Willian and Ivanovich are responsible for a lot of the blunt attacking play from this team.
March 12, 201511 yr Ramires, Willian and Ivanovich are responsible for a lot of the blunt attacking play from this team. Hard to blame a right back when he gets forward so much and scores goals too. We just seem to have signed two Brazilians more at ease with a cross country course than a football pitch.
March 12, 201511 yr He seemed pretty angry tonight a few times with the lack of movement in front of him.

March 12, 201511 yr I'm sure you noticed I mentioned all three, and not just ivanovic. What you say applies perfectly to Ivanovic just as it does to Willian. Watching the team with the ball, you notice that these three are more often than not responsible for the team passing sideways, losing attacking momentum and generally looking clueless with the ball. In Iva's defence, he scores goals, and his attacking play has improved this season. Also, he's a cb by his own admission. I'm talking overall, the players who are not on the same level while in possession are those three.
March 12, 201511 yr He seemed pretty angry tonight a few times with the lack of movement in front of him. Him along with 40k blues at the Bridge as well.
March 16, 201511 yr Just read on a dutch football page that Chelsea fans are tired of Fabregas and that we want him to be benched. Apparently he is a statue on the pitch. It literally says we puke at his sight (this is kind of a phrase over here but it obviously means we can't stand him) and that he is being booed by our fans at the stadium. Is there any truth at all in this? I've always known dutch football sites aren't reliable at all but this is taking it a bit far. I haven't been to the Bridge in a while but still. Of course I know his statistics were much better in the first half of the season, but we can't blame that all on him. The entire team looks a lot worse at the moment. Anyhow, just to be clear. I think Cesc is great and I 100% believe he should be in the starting line-up I just want to know if there is any truth in what I am reading.

March 16, 201511 yr Lee Dixon was droning on and on about the grumbles of discontent which came every time Fabregas gave the ball away, then again everything else he said was wrong too.
March 16, 201511 yr Wasn't one of the reasons he decided to leave Barca that the crowd was constantly getting on his back? Saw an article today titled 'Are Chelsea fans the most fickle in the premier league?' Edited March 16, 201511 yr by footballoholic
March 16, 201511 yr Wasn't one of the reasons he decided to leave Barca that the crowd was constantly getting on his back? Saw an article today titled 'Are Chelsea fans the most fickle in the premier league?' No one is on his back here though. Like a few he has went off the boil but he's still our best creative outlet bar Hazard.
March 16, 201511 yr This seems to have stemmed from the Chelsea Fans Channel interviewing someone called Bev who apparently didn't realise he was playing and accused of him being a statue.
March 16, 201511 yr He hasn't even received much criticism on the forum. Although to be fair to him he was one of the changers of the game going until the end and he didn't let the bad passes ruin his style of play. However that is probably the worst I've seen of him, not just in a Chelsea shirt like ever. I don't think he has ever gave the ball away that much, he must have gave it away about 13 times.
March 16, 201511 yr Not sure why cesc is being berated; what about ivanovic? is he untouchable because he scores a few crucial goals? His lethargy getting back into position is what puts us in trouble on occasion, and he did again yesterday as well. What about Costa? His touches were f**king awful! Oscar was sh*t as well, but don't hear him being criticised as much as fabregas. It is a bit of a joke really, when our highest assist maker is being targeted for below par performances, yet others in the team are not. I am not talking about criticism on here, but around the net in general, because a few sources are claiming he has been targeted. However, i don't use social media so i wouldn't know what has been said since yesterday. Edited March 16, 201511 yr by enigma
March 16, 201511 yr This seems to have stemmed from the Chelsea Fans Channel interviewing someone called Bev who apparently didn't realise he was playing and accused of him being a statue. That is absurd, he had more touches than anyone else on the pitch yesterday, by a massive margin.
March 16, 201511 yr What makes you say that mate? After he got subbed off his knee got taped up and he wasn't tackled badly or anything. Small squad and his massive drop in form, there must be more to it than just him not playing well second half of the season.
March 16, 201511 yr The whole team's playing sh*t not just Fabregas. And as a fan I'd rather see the passengers in the team booed than one of the players who wants to really take things into his own hands and be adventurous. It's inevitable when you try the risky passes etc that they won't always come off.
