Cesc Fabregas

Featured Replies

Presumably Ramires will start. Obviously he's far from being a like-for-like replacement for Fabregas, but he will provide a good riposte to the physicality of Diamé and will be able to assist Oscar in pressing Huddlestone.

Although we do have to be careful not to be too reliant on Cesc. He has a habit of starting the season on fire and then slowing down.

Normally would have had one more too.

Barring any serious injury/loss of form I think he's going to be the premier league leading all time assist maker, which is a bit crazy considering he wasn't here for 3 years.

131-Ryan Giggs
100-Steven Gerrard
96-Frank Lampard
92-Wayne Rooney
83-Francesc Fabregas
80-Thierry Henry
61-James Milner
60-Robin van Persie
58-Gareth Barry
56-Didier Drogba

Spot the odd two out here.

He needs another 50 assists (roughly) to be become leading assist maker. Assuming he gets 20 per season, that is 2.5 seasons. Think he can do it? Its a big ask..

Well then assume 10 assists per season and 5 seasons by which time he'll still only be 32.

What are Milner and Barry doing there!

Before Milner joined City he was a decent goalscoring midfielder who could also assist. Now he is more like a workhorse who rarely scores or get's an assist.

His second goal was against us it appears, first was a month prior facing Sunderland. The then youngest to ever score in the PL too, didn't know that.

Was that it? Any excuse to put this up anyhow:

That was the first game where lamps grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck and gave us an insight into what he could produce in the next decade.

Cesc Fabregas makes more assists in 16 Premier League games for Chelsea than Jack Wilshere has in entire Arsenal career

Made my week this article!  I would give a weeks wages to any reporter who grills Wenger on this next press conference ( Cesc also has more assists for CFC than Ozil has for Arsenal since he joined them LOL).  Amazing to see that wheelchair Jack averages something like 3 assists or less as season.  How was this guy ever hyped up so much?  Because Xavi complimented him once?

Shows how fickle we (I) can be that I like Cesc so much now but had nothing but contempt (a lil admiration maybe hidden under it all) for him until he started performing (since day 1) for us.  Now he could end up being a CFC cult hero/legend.  Talk about a complete 180 !
