August 6, 20169 yr Yea, all the hassle we went through getting him, only ten years ago, as if the club would be looking to make a profit on him now. No Mikel isn't likely to say horrible things, but he isn't likely to lie either, but lets believe that after ten years the man is using the club for the sole purpose of milking them for the most money that he can, because obviously according to you, he's an as*hole and every player in the premier league including John Terry doesn't give a sh*t about the club he plays for, just as long as he gets a good salary, that's a load of bullsh*t. I think your the one making things up. Of Chelsea wouldn't make a profit now but there is a clear difference between a free transfer and a transfer fee. Have I said that about John Terry and every premier league player? Nope. Putting Mikel in the same sentence as Terry is embarrassing enough, specially what he has done for the club, Terry puts his body on the line for Chelsea, breaks bones and gets smacked in the head, Mikel wouldn't. I also haven't said Mikel is milking the club or an asshole, I just think his a s*** footballer.
August 6, 20169 yr Yes, throughout the years he has kept the bench warm, he's not a starter and he's contempt on staying here, how dare he want a nice salary and trophies (which he has helped to win), how dare he want friends and family in London, obviously no other player wants these things. Obviously according to you he's never held down a place in the team (which he has) and despite ten years of service, he will apparently only earn respect from you if he has a couple of good years at west brom, forget the fact that without him, we probably wouldn't have even reached extra time in the champions league final, but let's just carry on insulting our own players like Arsenal fans. One game in 10 years you can remember then? Lol I'm not actually blaming Mikel for staying, all the reasons your exhaling for Mikel staying I actually said before you. There are way more positives to staying than leaving. The only reason to leave would be for first team football, if someone doesn't care about that then fair play to them.
August 6, 20169 yr Well, why would he care about playing every game? When he could be playing for Chelsea, I know which decision I'd take, regardless of whether he starts or not, also I mentioned the Champions league final, because I'd say it was a pretty big deal, that doesn't mean I can't remember him putting in other solid performances. You've summed up the way that John Terry plays the game, yea Mikel might not put his body on the line, doesn't mean that he doesn't care, at the end of the day, you basically said that what Mikel said about loving the club is lies and that is frankly pathetic. I can deal with the Mikel is sh*t comments, I'm not going to argue that he's a great player, because he isn't, certainly not sh*t, but no way near a star player, but questioning his comments on the club, questioning his love for this club, saying he only cares about the pay check, that's ridiculous.
August 6, 20169 yr It's not ridiculous though because if I lived an easy life of a footballer on stupid wages I would say I love any club I play for. No player can ever say bad things for the club they play for. I know it's abit extreme but it's true. Mikel might enjoy playing for Chelsea etc and who can blame him but no one knows apart from him if his comments are fully true. All I know is no player at any club would say any different. If you slag the club or fans off your be out the next day.
August 6, 20169 yr I get what you're saying, I just think it's a bit harsh to presume that Mikel says he loves the club due to his wages, I believe that he has nothing to gain from comments that he makes in the media at this stage. I don't think he's after a better contract and I think he knows that the clock is now ticking on his career with us. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
August 8, 20169 yr If Mikel was all about the money, he sure as hell wouldnt still be here. He'd have got his agent in contact with a Chinese club and probably doubled his wages for the next few years over there
August 8, 20169 yr For what its worth, Mikel had more cool moves, dribbles, forward passes in one game vs Sweden at the Olympics, than in the entire last season at Chelsea... I really don't understand why he doesn't do this at Chelsea?
August 8, 20169 yr For what its worth, Mikel had more cool moves, dribbles, forward passes in one game vs Sweden at the Olympics, than in the entire last season at Chelsea... I really don't understand why he doesn't do this at Chelsea? Foe Nigeria he plays AM. Chelsea he plays DM. It's one of the things that baffled me the most about Mourinho. Turning a very bright AM youngster into a DM. I guess Mikel is more professional than lots of people that slate hin realise. Putting your own potential and spark on the line for the benefit of the team as a whole by just playing the spoiler role you're asked to.
August 8, 20169 yr To be fair at the Olympics he's playing against [mostly] a load of under-23s. True, but he's done the same at senior level tournaments. Would it really hurt him to be a bit creative once in while for Chelsea?

August 8, 20169 yr Confused about all this Mikel hate He's a limited player, we all know this But as far as I've seen, he's never been anything other than a complete professional

Putting your own potential and spark on the line for the benefit of the team as a whole by just playing the spoiler role you're asked to. at the time there was Patrick Veiria & Jose try to create Veiria 2.0 - can't really blame him because at the time The Real Claude Makélélé was slowing down - if I am not mistaken Makélélé took Mikel under his wing - BTW all gaffers do this - just look at what Conte is doing w/ RLC - trying to mold a Young player into the Player the Gaffer of their dreams
August 8, 20169 yr Tell me please how many players at a young age (u20) can substitute Ballack, Essien or Makelele [at CDM position being attacking player] ? Who will not be bitching around telling that he is attacking player and will not play defensive because it will ruin his career, his stats and so on...? Who else can give everything he can to his club? There are definitely not so many players like him...
August 12, 20169 yr Mikel has completely mugged off Pogba on Twitter this morning. Welcome back to the @premierleague @paulpogba - looking forward to facing you again my friend #EPL And he's included a Vine of his back heel nutmug on Pogba. What a lad.
