I get what you're saying, I just think it's a bit harsh to presume that Mikel says he loves the club due to his wages, I believe that he has nothing to gain from comments that he makes in the media at this stage. Foe Nigeria he plays AM. Chelsea he plays DM. It's one of the things that baffled me the most about Mourinho. Turning a very bright AM youngster into a DM. I guess Mikel is more professional than lots of people that slate hin realise. Putting your own potential and spark on the line for the benefit of the team as a whole by just playing the spoiler role you're asked to.

at the time there was Patrick Veiria & Jose try to create Veiria 2.0 - can't really blame him because at the time The Real Claude Makélélé was slowing down - if I am not mistaken Makélélé took Mikel under his wing - BTW all gaffers do this - just look at what Conte is doing w/ RLC - trying to mold a Young player into the Player the Gaffer of their dreams

Tell me please how many players at a young age (u20) can substitute Ballack, Essien or Makelele [at CDM position being attacking player] ? Who will not be bitching around telling that he is attacking player and will not play defensive because it will ruin his career, his stats and so on...? Who else can give everything he can to his club? There are definitely not so many players like him...
