February 2, 201511 yr Andre Schurrle has completed his switch to Wolfsburg from Chelsea John Edwards: It has dragged on longer than he would have liked, but Andre Schurrle has now completed his £24million move from Chelsea to Wolfsburg after the clubs finally reached agreement over the fine detail that had held the transfer up for most of the day.A relieved Schurrle put pen to paper after being told this afternoon that the haggling had at last been resolved and the deal was done. The fee is 32million euros (£24m) and the Germany forward's contract is worth £4.5million a year, around £90,000 a week, and will run until the summer of 2019.After feeling undervalued by Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, Schurrle views the award of a four-and-a-half year contract as an indication of the esteem he is held in by Wolfsburg bosses. It is not clear yet exactly how the deadlock was broken, but the Bundesliga club are expected to officially confirm the move shortly.
February 2, 201511 yr We should be going through with it either way, although I can see the FFP factor in it. Well you hope a club of our size can afford 25 million quid, but there's been a few reports that have said we need to sell schurrle to finance the deal. Really don't understand how ffp seems to only apply to us, there was no talk of city having to sell in order to buy bony.

I think the Etihad sponsorship deal allows City to invest in themselves doesn't it? I saw a lot of complaints about it when ti first happened and it was highlighted as a criminal deal. Also they are expanding the stadium, something we can't do as of yet, not sure we ever will.

There's definitely something dodgy about their sponsorship deal. I don't think the difference in match day revenue is that significant tbh. It will be interesting to see how Uefa interpret their finances at the end of the season.
February 2, 201511 yr Andre gone to wolfsburg confirmed by sky Really sad to see the guy go but he wants to play to fair play to him Could / should of been a great player for us I wish him well
February 2, 201511 yr What is really the point in a deadline when they allow time after it? I don't understand it, no excitement in the deadline then really is there. Like Arsenal with Danny Welbeck, makes no sense. A deadline should mean everything, even the finalizing etc. What's so special about it then? Looks like Sky do just milk it afterall.
February 2, 201511 yr And Slawth, I think still have to provide proof to the league that the deal was in place or completed or something before the deadline, if it was announced after it, though you can get some kind of extension, which is a bit anti-climactic I agree. February 2, 201511 yr City will likely sell negredo, and didn't nastatic go recently too? City have already 'banked' the money from the Negredo deal. They had to, because otherwise they wouldn't have been able to sign Bony, as their transfer dealings would be in breach of FFP. They haven't actually sold Negredo, though. He's only on loan, so it's just a teeny bit dodgy putting a sale on your books that hasn't gone through yet. It's like Enron did a decade or so ago, and not unlike what Tesco are currently being investigated for, as they are basically falsifying their balance sheet, claiming income that hasn't actually occurred. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-citys-30million-wilfried-bony-4936700 Edited February 2, 201511 yr by Backbiter

February 2, 201511 yr Scored two big goals against City, a crucial goal against PSG, hattrick against Fulham, two awesome goals against Stoke. Had an impact in the short time he was here and the short time he played. Oh and for some reason, I loved that goal against Arsenal, just a favourite of mine, as we bullied them all game Schurrle just rams through and BANG. Edited February 2, 201511 yr by Slawth
February 2, 201511 yr Gutted to see him go, can't help thinking the "illness" is a big part of this, something that went on behind closed doors. I'm sure he'll be a success at Wolfsburg and I wish him all the best.
February 2, 201511 yr Good luck to him, likeable bloke but never quite hit the hoped for heights. That's nearly £150m of squad players sold in the last few Windows, Marina Granovskaia is a genius.
February 2, 201511 yr Sad to hear that this is confirmed, although it has seemed inevitable for a little while. I certainly don't blame him for leaving, once José has lost confidence in a player they usually meet a pretty quick end. Good luck to Andre! Wolfsburg are building a top-notch team though, I will be very interested to see what they manage to achieve.

February 2, 201511 yr Wish him the best of luck and sad to see him go. Oscar, Hazard and Cuadrado need to step up.

February 2, 201511 yr Never really given the chance of an extended run in the team and when he was presented with the opportunities he was either brilliant or didn't show up ...'just like a box of chocolates you just didn't know what you were going to get' as the saying goes...but I thought we might have stuck with him for at least the remainder of this and next season....but Jose knows best.
February 2, 201511 yr Was never his biggest fan but I'm gutted to see him go. I can see him and de Bruyne forming a good attacking line. Best of luck Andre!
