Zouma - If Kurt's Happy, I'm Happy!

he is so awkward in midfield, though and his positional awareness isn't good. I want us to keep him at CB, and hopefully we can sew this title up soon so we may be able to play RLC and a few youngsters.

His future is definitely at CB and his positioning wasn't that great. I was worried after the Rooney chance but he reasserted himself well and more than held his own.

not havin that, he was quality today and was exactly what we needed, rinsed fellani all day long

says a lot about a young, inexperienced player that he can be asked to play out of position so often and he continues to impress. shows his character, willingness to listen and his tremendous talent

Don't disagree with that. Kurt certainly does seem to listen and take on board what he needs to do, and that is something that bodes well for a young player.

But Jose doesn't trust youth?

i personally would like to see jose show a bit more faith in RLC, though. he is happy to play zouma in an alien position on multiple occasions, but isn't willing to give RLC (who always looks hungry, composed and confident when i see him play) a shot in there, in his natural position. This is why i hope we can tie up the title soon and hopefully put a couple youngsters (solanke, brown, loftus-cheek come to mind) in the team and see how they do. I would be ecstatic to see any of the aforementioned feature, if only for 15 mins at the latter end of a game; at least it would show that jose's serious about introducing youth players into the team. It has been so damn long since we've had a young, english player break through into the first team and i would think everyone is gagging for it to happen again very soon.

It's not about not being pleased, but c'mon, if Utd can bring in 2-3 youth players while trying to make 2nd place, we should be able to while being 10 points clear of our nearest rival in the league. It isn't asking for much to see RLC play instead of Zouma in central midfield on a few occasions. All this talk of "protecting him" is crap; he would offer more in that midfield than a natural centre back can.

He knows the position and is comfortable with it, so i don't understand the reluctance to give him a chance. I would rather zouma at RB (pick him ahead of Ivanovic at the moment due to his pace and intellengence, and you know he won't be caught out of position) or centre back. Is it really that much to ask for to see ONE, just ONE, youth player feature in the first team for 15-20 mins?

United were forced to bring in those young players though, we aren't gonna risk those youngsters against teams like United and Arsenal when the title isn't even won yet

Totally agree with you, but I genuinely don't think it would have hurt to bring on Solanke for the last 10-15 minutes yesterday, Drogba was out on his feet!

I hope if we do wrap the league up in the next 2 games, the young guys get a chance when the pressures off, but I'm not convinced they will, we'll soon find out I suppose!

young players need the right conditions. no point throwing them in at the deep end for no reason and knocking their confidence. the last few games, with no pressure, should be perfect for them. but we will still need the likes of JT around them to help them out
