February 8, 201610 yr Does anyone here know how long-term the effects of this could be in regards to his pace and such?
February 8, 201610 yr Does anyone here know how long-term the effects of this could be in regards to his pace and such? Pace / Jumping is likely to be effected. Bearing in mind Zouma relies on his physicality a lot more than his tactical brain, it could be a massive blow to his career. Hopefully, because he's young, it may not have the same effect it would on say a 28 year old.
February 8, 201610 yr f**ksake what sh*t news that is, hopefully he makes a full recovery! All the best Kurt, we're all rooting for you!!
February 8, 201610 yr Does anyone here know how long-term the effects of this could be in regards to his pace and such? Some players never come back from bad ACL injuries. He's still young so he's more likely than some others to bounce back. What makes this worse is, although he probably wouldn't have played much, he's now going to miss Euro 2016 in his own country. February 8, 201610 yr Not a very bright season, is it. Hopefully he heals well and won't rush back. I dare say, what else could possibly go wrong now?
February 8, 201610 yr Does anyone here know how long-term the effects of this could be in regards to his pace and such? It may stabilise his knee, so improve him, or he may have some residual pain.

February 8, 201610 yr TBF we have done well in injury-dept again this season. Not the reason we are 13th.
February 8, 201610 yr 6 month recovery seems pretty optimistic. And that doesn't take into account the mental recovery time. Extremely sad for Kurt and I wish him a very speedy recovery.
February 8, 201610 yr Does anyone here know how long-term the effects of this could be in regards to his pace and such? Depends almost entirely on his rehab. If he commits to it then he's got a chance of it not making a huge difference and six months is certainly at the low end of the scale when it comes to ACL injuries. But it's a very serious injury and it's only recently been the case that it's not a real career-ender so there's no certainty either way. The general rule is that it's 6-9 months to get back to playing and then the same again to get back to the same level. Some come back quicker, some slower and some never. Just a sh*tty situation all around. Edited February 8, 201610 yr by ShedEnder91
February 8, 201610 yr I guess the only silver lining with this bad injury to Kurt is that maybe the team will re-sign JT for another season.
February 8, 201610 yr 6 month recovery seems pretty optimistic. And that doesn't take into account the mental recovery time. Extremely sad for Kurt and I wish him a very speedy recovery. He's young and fit, so shouldn't be any complications like arthritis and such. As you say a speedy recovery wished.
February 8, 201610 yr Hopefully he will be back in time for pre season, and he has a strong recovery.
February 8, 201610 yr I think someone said the first time for a young man and this has not that career affecting as it may seem. Essien for example had a bunch of these and he was an older player.
February 8, 201610 yr Terrible news but I know he will come back stronger than ever and wish him all the best for his recovery, we will miss you for the rest of the season Kurt :(
February 8, 201610 yr is he the first player we have had, of whom has had a terrible long term injury like this? i don't remember many players with bad injuries for us.
February 8, 201610 yr Gutted for him...hope he makes full recovery...don't want him to go down Essien road
February 8, 201610 yr I guess the only silver lining with this bad injury to Kurt is that maybe the team will re-sign JT for another season. It could very well mean that Terry is suddenly offered a new contract. I think that this does signal that we will be looking at another CB in the Summer.
February 8, 201610 yr Gutted. He could go in a similar way Essien did. Not pessimistic......just realistic. Suspected it was a bad one
