Still think its nuts he plays for Spain now even though he's quite clearly Brazilian. Surely if he has no direct Spanish blood line there you shouldn't be allowed to play for them.

As others have said there's really nothing strange with it at all, so long as you're a citizen of that country. Surely not all of England's players have a direct English blood line?

Really don't see the point of Spain picking him. A fine player of course, but the style Spain plays, they would have more fun playing with a false 9 like Cesc.

Yes he is, but Rodgers said yesterday that he wouldn't be fit for England EVEN if he played for the dippers at the weekend !!!

Supposedly he has a good chance of playing for Liverpool on the weekend, so no reason why he shouldn't get called up.

If he puts in a classy performance against Arsenal it will go a long way to making us and him look like the real deal and genuine title contenders.

Big game for Diego tomorrow.

A real chance to stamp his authority on a big game, he was bullied out of the City game for long periods but still came close to scoring.

If he puts in a classy performance against Arsenal it will go a long way to making us and him look like the real deal and genuine title contenders.

What I loved about the City performance as he didn't stop trying, he was getting fouled all over the place and he still put everything in to try and win.

Costa was always going to struggle against City due to Kompany and Mangala being able to match him for strength and speed. Mertersacker is slow as you can get and Kos is hardly the strongest CB around so i'm hoping Costa thrives in a similar way Drogba did against Arsenal

Arsenal's suicidal high line is the perfect situation for Diego. I can see at least a brace coming.

Costa vs City was always going to be tough (and it wasn't a good performance) because there will always be a match where the speed and physicality can take a newcomer by surprised. Even Fabregas was rushed a little in the earlier games. I can only see him getting better (though not necessarily more prolific).

I wouldn't say he struggled, we just didn't have the ball for long enough against citeh.

What a player.

That proves that Costa doesn't need much to score a goal and that he can indeed deliver against "top-flight" teams.

And I bet Wenger was so happy that Drogba wasn;t playing...
